Alright, I'm convinced, just need to find a 1TB drive and someone to install it for me.

1TB wont be cheap!
Get as big as you can afford and a decent external for most files... my internal is a 256GB (rMBP) and I keep a 1TB external with all my dropbox etc on.

I've 500GB in mine, and nearly filled it up.

Kept a 1TB external for back up rather than secondary storage.

It's still be cheaper than getting a new laptop when the old one still work fairly well.
