Bah, they hardly ever talk about cake in there!
-
• #1356
Cheers, I'm so pleased with it...and I think even more pleased that it's a finished bike now, I won't be doing anything to it for quite some time!
Massive thanks to the DH team

Gorgeous! Did have a sneaky look at your wheels and frame when I popped in on Friday
-
• #1358
Thanks mate, I love it...pretty sure this one will be the keeper for some time!

Jumped on the Archetype-hype and got me some wheels built for the winter months!
Bring on spring time and more aero sillyness!

Awesome wheels!!!

^Never used one before, do they actually stop anything?
I've just resigned myself to getting wet each time I go out now. I'd much rather have a muddy bike and wet/muddy kit than use my mudguards that don't really help and just get clogged with leaves. If I wanted to stay dry and be sensible then I wouldn't be repurposing a track bike to use on the road!
-
• #1363
Yeah, it seems to lessen the muddy strip up your back look!! Obvious you still get spray from the front but that's not that bad unless you're turning!
-
• #1364
Ah I just embrace it, out of sight out of mind! You'll get drenched as soon as you sit behind somone without a full rear guard anyway.

Finally caved and bought Matts Genesis. I don't really have anything planned apart from eventually making all the silver black and giving it a good scrub!

How long until LFGSS consists mainly of people with gears? I'm rapidly warming to the idea that my work bike will be the Caminada and that for rides I'll be on gears
-
• #1367
It's already that way in the majority of the main threads I think - so probably a few years until Norwich catches up... I'll still be fixed until my knees give up though!
-
• #1368
I thought that the other day, the majority of people seem to be going that way. I can't see myself getting rid of fixed because it's such good fun and a good tool for training but gears will be entering my world soon!
-
• #1369
I may possibly convert the Olmo at some stage but realistically I'll probably just fiddle with the Genesis until it's perfect
-
• #1370
Ha, I'm already there. I know where my track bike is but it hasn't left its box yet!

It is not known how much of the £114m would go to Norwich; the other cities set to benefit are Bristol, Birmingham, Cambridge, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Oxford.
Probably not a lot then!
I do seem to notice a lot more cyclists on the road lately, whether it's because there are more of whether it's because I'm more interested in cycling I'm not sure...
-
• #1373
Well, well could get more than the others. Cambridge is a poster town for cycling but has a lot of infrastructure already. Still an even spilt is £14m. I suggest we start a velodrome petition.

^ could be incorporated into five ways roundabout

Handy for those pre race gingsters.
Christ, I hate to see what happens when you go full weight weenie for a summer road bike build...looks good though. Much better colour than UPS brown.
