  • Im 5'9"s ona large using 172.5 No overlap @ all

  • Thanks. Getting a small, so expecting a bit, but I can deal with that.

  • The small has loads.

  • Thinking of selling my XL pompino (set up for SSCX). Bought it off here recently but its a little too big for me.

  • Nice bike that- was worth a punt I suppose? !!

  • People are always after Pompinos (Pompini?).

Should fetch a couple of hundred?

  • On which note... anyone selling a large V4?

  • While we're on the toe overlap thing. Does anyone know of a crabon fork with 45mm+ offset?

I'd like to upgrade to carbon at some point anyway, and if I can kill two birds with one upgrade (rather than also buying shorter cranks to sort the overlap), that would be swell. Though I think I might need 50mm offset which might make things quite twitchy?

I suspect I need to be looking at/thinking about Easton/Ritchey? All the cheaper carbon forks I can find have 45mm offset, which is the same as the stock Pomp fork :/

  • Yeah I'm quite keen to get hold of a Large. Its a really fun bike.

  • Re: toe overlap.
172.5 crank arms on a Large v3 here too.
Easton EC70X fork is 45mm rake, and I get a touch of toe overlap on flat pedals + mudguards, but none with SPDs + no guards.
Versatile bikes, but if toe overlap's that much of a problem you should probably buy a different frameset for your uses.

  • What fork is it? Do you have more pics? Thanks :)

  • There's one or two on eBay.

  • I think I made a thread for it in the CP forum.
    It's a Gunsha.

  • Just finished building a parts bin winter pomp

  • Nice. What size is that and how tall are you?

  • It's a medium and I'm ~5'10"

  • Just finished a pomp build, tested it out for the first time yesterday.
So far very pleased with it.
Biggest problem was trying to get the gearing correct. Started with 44x17 which was great on the flat, however it's a tad hilly 'round here, so have swapped to a larger 20t freewheel for now.
Had a stronglight track crankset, hence the large front ring (ideally would have bought a smaller setup for the front, and may change this in the future)
Varno built a set of wheels for me, and I have set it up for riding trails with a set of cross tyres.

  • Looking at the raw ones I'm kinda annoyed I clicked blue.

  • Needs moar spacers. ^^

  • I have my daughter to blame, she reckoned the raw finish was 'more me'

  • the raw actually looks great. Ive been put off from getting one for years because of the bad colours

  • Check out the one I posted in the SSCX thread

  • Cheers bud! I done did that. Appears to have 45mm offset, unless I'm missing something?
