Do you do the blasting in house? What blast media do you use on different materials?
-
• #28
yeah, we blast in the house. Depends on the material, we have various grades of glass beads and aluminium oxide.

@SeaBassCycles I popped in around 5pm but no one was around.
Good luck for tonight, I will come back another day -

Dropped off a deeply unglamorous Boardman alu frame off on Saturday to be coated dark grey. Friendly peeps, nice workshop. Looking forward to seeing the results. Will post a pic of the new winter communter when it's done.

Any good @Apone?

Great to see this South of the River.
I've given seven frames to Armourtex and not always had the best results.I kinda want a new project bike just to see your work!

@SeaBassCycles Are you guys still open and powdercoating?
I need some work done!
-
• #35
They definitely are. There's ever more cafes and drinking places in Copeland Park too.
-
• #36
Would you guys be up for powdercoating a Vespa hub? They have a few threaded parts and some faces that need to remain bare. Up for it?
-
• #38
I ended up not needing it so I can't comment
-
• #39
ah ok no probs, thanks for the speedy reply

Unsure if this is helpful to you but it's Cole Coatings that does the work for Seabass right by their Peckham shop. Their instagram is https://instagram.com/colecoatingsworkshop/ which should give you an idea of their work, if you've not already seen it that is!

Thanks for the link!
Would go with powdercoating I think, would save about 40 -50 £ but I think their facility for it is out of action at the moment. So while I wait thought I'd check out what else is around. DOn't suppose you (or anyone) has gone with a non bike specific workshop?

There are a few industrial places in and around sidcup.
-
• #43
Afraid I've not no. I can say I will be getting my frame and forks done with them in the very near future though.

Cole Coatings did my frame recently, Dan was great and the quality is top notch. would paint again 10/10
-
• #45
looks highly decent! think I may go for it, will go in for a chat with them soon..

It's wet paint rather than powdercoat but frame and carbon forks came to £140 which seems very fair. Turn around time was also very fast.

• #47
I wonder if they'd fancy painting my Volvo.
-
• #48
Bit OT, but is there anyone who does carbon painting in SE London? I looked into it a while back and was quoted around the £3-400 mark which is a little out there.
-

Pretty sure Coal Coatings at Seabass can paint carbon

I had my steel pomp done by Seabass/Coal Coating. I thought they did a very good job, f+f powdercoating for £100. Not crazy quick but good workmanship I thought.
We have some flakes for the powder coating. Depending on the finish you want the wet spray can work as well.
