Can this be done fixed? I'm willing to gear down from 74gi to 66gi if you think that would make it more enjoyable.

We did have an athlete complete a week this year with a fixed gear bike, if you feel you are up for the challenge there is no reason why you can't try.

I wonder what kind of fitness level is needed to complete...
Nope, apparently I'm too young!? -

No one has yet asked for a forum discount

Forum discount if I do it fixed? I did Box Hill a couple of times last year (I think) so should be good for this. Let me know.

The reason I'm being snarky is either that I'm mostly jealousy that I can't (and won't ever be able to) afford to do the Haute Route, or if I think it's an example of extreme consumerist posturing: paying €2000 to go cosplay on the continent as professional cyclists?

to go cosplay on the continent as professional cyclists?
Dibs going as Sailor Moon.

I was thinking Cowboy Bebop - that's the Iron Entry option, right?

Yes, this is just spam.

Just reminds me of: http://internationale.teamjva.com/travel/

In defence. Its hardly deceptive spam going by the user name.

paying €2000 to go cosplay on the continent as professional cyclists
Gold.

it would only be spam if they joined the forum for the sole purpose of promoting their own company, started only one thread and didn't even say hi in the welcome thread ......... oh

Yeahyeahyeah.
....this lycra cosplay holiday thats been mentioned.
Is that a thing?

The easiest way to get a discount is to enter a team. If you enter 8 team-members the 9th member is free. We would happily welcome a team of riders on fixies, and I'm sure we can arrange a good deal if you get a team together!

I'm sorry if you feel this is Spam.
We are just trying to recruit a wider base of riders for next year's events, as we seek to cater for all types of cyclists of all levels. -

Your apology is empty and disingenuous - you're still taking the piss, contributing nothing and hocking your wares at no cost to you.
Looks like spam.
Is spam.
Unless, or course, you'll be making a donation for each of the €1,600 to €4,400 packages you're mugging people off with offering.
10% seems reasonable.

I want to do this next year more than anything. Cant seem to make it work though. Plus as someone thats happy enough, on his own, with a jersey full of flapjacks, pitstop, and a windjacket. I cant justify the cost to myself.
I think the price reflects what a certain section of the cycling community want in terms of facilities, and what they are willing to pay.
Which is fair enough. I guess.

See now that's what the FUCK I'm talking about. Thanks Al! I'll keep that in mind for next summer.
In the summer of 2015 the Haute Route Triple Crown events are back, taking Amateur Cyclists through the Mythical Cols of the Pyrenees, Alps and Dolomites.
Each event is a 7 day, 7 stage, fully timed sportive. This event is designed to give amateur riders the experience of what it's like to ride in the professional peloton, as your every need is catered for from dawn to dusk every day. Mechanical assistance, feed stations, lodging and physiotherapy are just some of the options available to you on a daily basis.
If anyone has any questions about the events, wants to participate in them, or just find out more, don't hesitate to ask me, or head to http://www.hauteroute.org for the full details.
