Depends on what you want to to do. Lake Como is a great place for mooching around, with some great gardens, good ferry services and lots of little towns and villages worth a visit. If you've got a car then you can easily do some day trips to ride iconic climbs like the Gavia, the Stelvio, the Mortirolo etc., and the riding in the hills to the east of the lake, above Bergamo is fantastic.
We stayed for a couple of days in Varenna, which was a very pleasant little village, with easy access to the lake and onto the autostrada to head north or south.
