Sidi's 'wide' is most other manufacturer's 'regular'.
Go try a pair of Giro 'HV' fit shoes on, if you can find them at a shop near you. -

I find Sidi to be the widest without being too long, perfect for me.
I was wondering whether Bont might be an option as the head mould should allow a wider fit.

For what it's worth I had similar problems finding wide fitting footie boots.
Answer was to avoid north european manufacturers and stick with Italians.
Apparently they've historically used shorter, wider lasts so on that basis Diadora & Lotto offerings might be worth looking at.

I found Sidi uncomfortably narrow. I'm currently using Mavic shoes, which seem to fit me perfectly.

Diadora when Shimano are too tight. And Björn Borg won Wimbledon in them.

Shimano, the velcro straps and ratchet strap can be adjusted virtually where you want http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-r088-spd-sl-road-shoes-wide-fit/

Shimano wide options in some of their models are pretty good. Northwave USED to be very wide but I think (can someone confirm??) that this years's models are all much narrower. Lake are astonishingly poorly available but their wides are properly wide, too. Great shoes, I ride 'em.

I have Giro Empires but Lake are also wide.

Didn't realise that Giro had started doing wider shoes, will definitely check this out, thanks!

Yeah I've tried Shimano's wide shoes on in the past and found them similar to Sidi in width, but with a stiffer upper which is less comfortable. I'll investigate Lake but it looks like their wider shoes are pretty pricey. Thanks!

Bonts come in wide, and then can be molded.
Northwave are lovely and wide too.
I dont use anything else. I ride a S/XS bike. So if I need to size up for my fat feet I just increase toe overlap.

Are Northwave wide in nature or they have a wide version .. I am finding it hard to find a winter road shoe that is wide ..

Bonts in their 'wide' fitting for me

Surprisingly I found Fizik R3's to be a decently wide, and true to size fit

@big_daddy_wayne @edscoble Have you got the bonts? Can the sole be molded or is it just the upper? I was thinking about maybe putting some plasticine or something around my toes during molding to try and get the toebox as big as possible.

I follow Bonts sizing chart to find out what size I need.
It said I need to contact them for a custom shoes.
Sidis got my size right.

rudder - it's the uppers that mold. Difference between them and the sidi megas is the footbed area on the bonts is much wider and lipped, not flat. If toebox is an issue for you then look at a pic of the bonts, much wider and flatter than the sidis.
You in London? Sigma Sport in Hampton Wick normally have a stock of Bonts in the wide fittings you can try on

Can recommend Giro Trans HV (High Volume).
Always had problems finding shoes until these. The design has changed a little in the last couple of years so can't comment on the latest uppers but they have now added a replaceable heel pad which is the only negative comment I had on the previous model.

Look like the reason why Bont don't have it in my size because the shoes I selected doesn't come in wide option.
So Bont at 44 Wide according to their chart should fit me better than my Sidi at 45 Wide.
Next step, need to ask Saddleback about getting the Vaypor XC in wide, they don't list it in their site, just normal.

Sorry to bring this up but my search for shoes isn't going to well. I'm a size 43 with Giro, but found that my toes get pinched to the point I can't feel them when i ride (toe down). I have fucking terribly flat feet and am seriously confused as to what to go for.
Is there anyone on here with flat feet? What shoes do you go with?

What’s the updated view on this?
I have DHB, north wave and Mavic which are all perfect for length size but feel too squashed round the toes. So I don’t really want a shoe that’s all round wider, just wider in the toes.
Any thoughts? Maybe custom mould style, are they still a thing? -

Lake?
I have massively wide feet (H/J or EEEE) and Lake are the only thing with a big enough to give me enough room from the arch forward.
I've been using Sidi's wide fit for the past few years but my forefoot spills off the side of the carbon sole, gets uncomfortable after a while. Anyone with really wide feet (3E+) got any recommendations?
