I'd pay £55 so that tight arsed joker @user49934 doesn't get it even at £50.

Grinders – the new Baratza Encore (£140) is decent, only been using it a few weeks and only for filter but it's meant to be good for espresso. Weighing beans in and grounds out, you only lose about 0.2g which is pretty impressive. You could easily adjust from filter to espresso and back again if you remember the numbers.
How's your Baratza a year on, @hanged_up?
After considerable research, I've asked Father Christmas for one this year...

It's great! I've heard since that it's not good for espresso but I'm definitely making tastier filter than with my Porlex. And obviously with far less effort and time.

How have I only found this thread now?!
Got some volcano coffee works beans from my local yesterday to try out, so far so good!

Had some of the full steam blend couple of weeks ago- was OK and made nice, consistent shots. Found it a bit bland though: no real depth and no top notes - just a slightly nutty, medium bodied espresso. Nothing wrong with that of course, if that's what you want.

Exactly. Surprised they didn't ask for whipped cream on top..

I was in a hurry to get some good beans, and the coffee shop across the road had these, so I picked up 1kg to start with :) It's over 2 years since I put all my coffee stuff in storage and have just taken it out now that I've the space in my new flat, so it'll take some playing around with grind, tamp, brew, etc again til I get it right.
I've not had hasbeans since they were in the old school all orange packaging, but I'll have to try some agin.
What do you use @dan?

I work 2mins away from climpsons, so I normally use them. Try The Fields, really nice balance. If you like chocolate-y espresso, also try their seasonal blend or the Climpsons Estate Blend.
Others I buy semi-regularly: Square Mile Red Brick, Workshop 'cult of done', Alchemy Elixir, AllPress (not a huge fan though) and if I am in town and feeling flush will buy something from Notes.

I'm in the market to get a decent coffee grinder, what's the forum's recommendation be?
I don't think the Rancilio Rocky is that good for the money, as according to some review, it's only a little better than the current one we have.
Vaguely tempted after relying on my porlex jp30.
But still - it's bloody huge and I'd have to go to Forest Hill. Who'd want to live there, eh @Dammit?
In other news I've been drinking Finca Las Margaritas by James Gourmet Coffee this week. Bought from Ground in Kemp Town and it's utterly delicious. I've been making it with a V60 - about a litre at a time.
