Cool. Who's painting it and when?

The local paint shop is Dekerf, So I'm going to go and sound them out as soon as I can get out there. I have already spoken to them about sourcing decals etc.

I've got a SLX Corsa Extra in Motorola colours that I built up with 7410. Thread here (some pics have died):

P.S. What gives with the saggy brake cable in the catalogue photo?

Dream frame that. What about the Team Stuttgart colourway? Definitely my fav.

+1 on the Stuttgart colourway.

Yes that Stuttgart colourway is really rad.. though i am also the owner of the below frame. Which i have had sitting around for a long long time, i have recently had a steel fork built for it. I was too tempted by the matchy matchy motorola pursuit and road frames.. So its going Motorola and the pursuit is getting a tidied up and fork paint while its in the shop as well. I have to wait til mid january for the paint to be done but its exciting times.

I should hope not: straight to anti-porn >>>>>>>>

Matchy matchy is almost always great. Especially when it comes to Merckx. Good choice!

You're dead to me.

I would love to know where you sourced that silver Leader fork from ?.
My leader is an ex-pro Team Telekom frame and i loathe the black front end, too dark.

The 7-Eleven colour way frames are much more difficult to come by, but that said, did they use MX tubing back in 87/88??
-

@stringfellow1946 I don't know too much about the dates of the 7eleven colourways, another reason i decided to go with the motorola paint. Frames are still with the paintshop but i did pick up this stem today.
120mm 1 inch threadless cinelli grammo
Still undecided on Bars but i think they should be cinelli also still locating a dura-ace seatpost and I think its either got to be a turbo or flite for the saddle.

The team used Avocet O2 saddles I think, but I couldn't find one anywhere so I went for an R1, which is way more comfy than it looks.

Progress on this pretty much ground to a halt for 4 months due to the guy at the paint shop receiving the wrong masks for the frame twice. Things however have picked up a bit in recent weeks, painter now has the correct masks and Im expecting to collect the finished frame in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime i picked up a NOS avocet o2 saddle from Hilary Stone and i also still don't have a BB. Does anyone know what length i'd need to find for the dura-ace 7400 cranks in the photo above?

pardon my question, but is it true that top tube is backward? is it columbus max or some other tube?
-
• #24
matchy merckx's paint jobs are now complete:
@eroika.pl Im not too much of a aficionado on tubing directions, but it is indeed MAX.

I'm curious; how would it be backward?
I acquired this a few months ago and its been on the back burner a bit due to work busy-ness but I'm starting to get this project going a little bit now so i thought i would share.
Having visited my local frame builder he pointed out that he had a road mx leader in my size that was in for a repair job on the dented top tube (he had done a fine job of rolling out the dent). Turns out the guy who had it on for repair had bought something else in the meantime so I got this repaired frame for a good price.
I have sourced a NOS mx leader fork and currently am planning on putting a dura-ace 7410 groupo on it once it has a new paint job. I currently torn between the classic motorola or 7-eleven colourway.
Hubs are currently with the lbs getting built to open pro's
