I've got an xl that's a bit short (BNWT in Grey if anyone's interested?).

Yep, mine only fits when on the bike, it's cut very high at the front.

It's perfect in the arm length (I'm all arms), and I'm more than happy with the cut at the front, it makes perfect sense when you're in a bike-tuck.

It's just a little tight around the arm pits. Probably be fine in use, but with the PTJ underneath with a base layer I'm worried that it's going to stretch the seams around the pits a bit or hamper looking over my shoulder maybe

My rape cape fits bang-on thanks. It's a real pro cut though, very long at the front and almost non-existent at the back

Right, so I want a long sleeve base layer for deepest darkest winter.

Am I right in thinking the standard merino BL would be what I need, rather than the mesh BL? From what I can tell, the latter is lighter and more multi-season (which is slightly pointless for a long sleeve IMO)?

I'm thinking of placing an order, and, with the 20% off code, am on £88. In the awkward situation where I'm so close to the £100 threshold for free delivery that I might as well just get something cheap to hit the £100 rather than paying £5 or whatever for postage.
