  • I've got an xl that's a bit short (BNWT in Grey if anyone's interested?).

If you've got any kind of belly you're fucked (by all accounts).

  • Yep, mine only fits when on the bike, it's cut very high at the front.

  • It's perfect in the arm length (I'm all arms), and I'm more than happy with the cut at the front, it makes perfect sense when you're in a bike-tuck.

It's just a little tight around the arm pits. Probably be fine in use, but with the PTJ underneath with a base layer I'm worried that it's going to stretch the seams around the pits a bit or hamper looking over my shoulder maybe

  • I've got news 24 on in the background going on about Bill Cosby and misread that as 'rape cape'.

  • My rape cape fits bang-on thanks. It's a real pro cut though, very long at the front and almost non-existent at the back

  • lol

  • Are you wearing it back to front?

  • This makes no sense

  • It's not supposed to. Lets move on from my bad jokes and get back to the matter at hand: does anyone have a large Race Cape (NOT RAPE CAPE) that doesn't fit that might like to sling it my way in some sort of deal

  • I don't think Pro Team Anything was designed for any type of belly... period.

  • Apart from Jan Ullrich, having a belly isn't very 'pro.'

  • Right, so I want a long sleeve base layer for deepest darkest winter.

Am I right in thinking the standard merino BL would be what I need, rather than the mesh BL? From what I can tell, the latter is lighter and more multi-season (which is slightly pointless for a long sleeve IMO)?

  • Mesh base layer is too thin for winter

  • Does anyone have a rape cape in an XL they want to trade for a large?

  • Just received a transfer jacket. First impressions (haven't ridden it anywhere) - it's very nice... and not so pricey with the current sale + 20% discount code.

  • Definitely.

I suspect it'll be ideal for gentle cafe/pub rides. Anything more 'spirited' and it'll be too warm.

It does pack down well so should easily fit in a bag.

  • Good shout, they even have the nice colour in stock, ordered, thank!

It's a little more expensive than my Uniqlo Ultralight Down, which starting to look rather worn.

  • I love it. A full on proper snuggly mini duvet.

  • I was trying to work out if it could be packed in its own back pocket (it even has double sided zip) - anyone know how it's done?

The arm length is spot on for me, which makes it a vast improvement over all the other coats/jackets I own, cycle-specific or otherwise (PTJ aside).

  • I suspect just packing it inside out.

    Just shove it in.

  • I'm thinking of placing an order, and, with the 20% off code, am on £88. In the awkward situation where I'm so close to the £100 threshold for free delivery that I might as well just get something cheap to hit the £100 rather than paying £5 or whatever for postage.

So, what to get!? There's nothing I particularly need (of course, rapha purchases are never a case of 'need', just 'want' / 'lust')

Also, can online purchases be returned to the shop, or do they need to go back to HQ?
