  • looks like taking a dump on the bonnet is no longer such a threat to car drivers ...they'll just shove it down the fuel filler pipe

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/road-and-rail-transport/11240771/Britains-first-poo-bus-running-on-human-waste.html

  • There's a joke about leaving an upper decker floating around there somewhere.

  • Is it a u-bendy bus?

  • Anything to help you drop off the kids has got to be good.

  • My kind of bus. As long as there's a copy of the Profannisaurus while I refuel it.

  • Yeah great use of police resources that. 5mph is a brisk walk, I tried cycling in Hyde Park once and never again. I would sooner mix it with the lorries and lambos that is the 4 lanes of Park Lane doom

  • Hah, as if there's such law I'm sure the police will simply cited the furious and wanton law instead.

  • Can't find any reference to 5mph in the RPaOOS regulations. Looks like it could be the default 10mph limit because it's not a specific named road where the limit is 30mph.

And it's probably also tied up in the same problem as Richmond Park in that the bit that amended it to apply to all vehicles (not just motor vehicles) was then removed by a later amendment and no-one knows whether it really applies to bikes or not.

    Anyway:-

    Me <-----------------------------------------------------> Giving a shit

  • It's not even on a road is it? If not, there's not applicable limit at all for any vehicle.

  • Good point, it looks like it's the path in the distance here:-

    http://goo.gl/maps/Ss1Uo

Can't see any of the law that would apply, nor a posted speed limit sign visible when joining that path from the road.

I'd hope someone would get a ticket and challenge it.

  • You're definitely not travelling at 16mph.

  • It's not even on a road is it? If not, there's not applicable limit at all for any vehicle.

So nothing exists in law to limit speeds on a shared use path?

  • So I'm forrin scum.... and I've always wondered; if the UKIP/BNP ever got into power, how would they ever find me?
As the UK has no central registry of all residents, nor ID cards or citizen numbers, our presence here is simply randomly scattered over a range of different registries. Some of them record my place of birth, such as my driver's license, but doesn't record wether I'm still a citizen of that country. Some, such as voters records, record my nationality but it's an unreliable source of data as forrins frequently move house. Then there are loads of records, such as council tax, which don't bother with forrin-ness at all.

To round up and expel all the forrin scum would be a huge bureaucratic undertaking way beyond the abilities of even the smartest BNP goon. It's really telling that none them have ever suggested a step by step method as to how to get rid of us.

  • Goons going door to door, finding out if you make a sandwich with only one side?

  • It's really telling that none them have ever suggested a step by step method as to how to get rid of us.

All they have to do is to mimic the National Socialism and take it from there.

  • It's really telling that none them have ever suggested a step by step method as to how to get rid of us.

This is true, but they don't mean you. They mean those other forrin scum, by which they are referring to Poles, Bulgarians, and Romanians, assorted gypsies (otherwise known as Poles, Bulgarians, and Romanians (including the ones who were born here)), darkies of any variety, and JOOOOOS.

To produce their step by step method of getting rid of all the forrin scum, first they would need to produce a robust definition of forrin scum, which they haven't so far done a very convincing job of. Which is what you'd expect from a bunch of half-witted, xenophobic clowns, I suppose.

  • I was born in Cambridge, but my last name is very forrin, and my grandfather was from far away - should I vote UKIP?

  • As a UK born forrin who is emigrating I'll actually have to post my UKIP vote in...

    Confusing... NlYBY?

  • I know loads of forrins who've gone native and are prime UKIP fodder...

    • Mill Road hospital baby fistbump *

Most people in Cambridge are forruners nowadays. Bloody foreign research scientists, coming to our universities, curing our diseases, discovering our double helixes and making our cities more varied and interesting to live in.

  • Yes. All of the above.
You'd think being the first politician to present a proper, comprehensive 'get rid of them' plan would be a real vote winner among who shop around for xenophobia. But no politician dares take the first step, for fear of ridicule when the flaws in the plan are exposed.
But also, like Ed said, they might just hope to get enough power to create for a general climate of goon-ness. The finer points of policing and governance might matter less once they run the place.

  • You do raise an interesting point - if they got into government at what point would UKIP go "overt" and start herding people with orange stars sewn onto their clothing into cattle-trucks?
