Or, if possible, bring your bike and come play in the mud with us.
-
• #2353
I would bring it but not this time around. Working on moving to London during the spring. Then I will bring bikes. :-)
-
• #2354
Excellent. Hopefully Winter won't have bloated me out too much and I can do some more rides then :-)

Is anyone going to be coming up to see the World Cup in Milton Keynes? I'm going to be there all weekend so would be good to bump into a couple of forum faces if they're going to be about.
-
• #2356
Yep myself and @Doctor_Cake will be there. Going to the Sven and Katie meet at the (spits on floor) Trek store on the Friday, too.
-
• #2357
Is that an open access floor spitting or do you need to be invited?

There were tickets for the Friday thing but anyone could get one. Not sure if they are still available though.

TBF, I'm going to be travelling down on Friday evening. I'm unlikely to be able to make it to MK by 7pm.

Where are you staying?

Thanks. I thought I was 8th given the demi-results published on Sunday.
That said, I was 8th two weeks ago but that result has been changed again and I'm now further back. I've made my case to John Mx, who agrees with it, so hopefully that'll be rectified.
Man, I thought the chip timing system was meant to fix all this.
As for finishing on the lead lap, try to ride races that coincide with National Trophy races, that always levels the playing field a bit. And get gridded if you can, that means you can race from the off, rather than fighting through traffic and bottlenecks on the first lap.

I am the bottleneck!

Radial cycles - launching at MKWCCX14.
Do we know anything about them?

Nice work Any P.
I am going only by what I have been told by a friend who claims to know the nice lady who designed the Cyclopark course. She expected some complaints but wanted to put together a challenging course.
-
• #2366
I thought the course was great, really challenging and varied. It would've been a belter if it wasn't quite so muddy, as some sections, like the zig zag bit after the double hill, were compromised by the surface conditions.

Travelodge somewhere near.

Premier Inn.
In other news...Rapha's cross shoes look rather like Giro Codes, but the box they come in is pretty rad.
-
• #2369
I'm surprised 'RAD' hasn't been embossed onto the shoe.
Do you find it strange that the version of Cyclocross Rapha is selling is more American than Belgian? Don't know if it's the popularity of CX in the US, but it seems everything is based on the dollar and bacon hand-up culture!
Not sure how I feel about it, I think I like both.
-
• #2370
Not really - they sponsor US riders like Jeremy Powers. US cross is kinda like a step down (sorry US folks) from European, so it's not so surprising that Rapha could break in to the scene there.
That said, Jeremy Powers is racing at the UCI world cup tomorrow in Belgium, and I'll be heckling.... I mean cheering him on.

Suppose the main reason I find it weird is because Rapha usually go for the traditional heritage angle. There are influences, but it's all much more Americanized (with a Zee) but again don't think it's a bad thing. I like the look of their gear.
You're over in Koksijde? That'll be good fun! Looking forward to Milton Keynes
