More of a fan now than I was then... Shared a bill with them and a whole bunch of those other guys, felt like a fish out of water... Awful, awful music...

Awful, awful music...>
I know you are, but what are they etcetc
Typical Mary Chain moment last night - Jim comes on stage and says, 'Right, we're guannae play the encore first and then play Psychocandy, so we won't come back at the end'. They then should've done a half-hearted version of I Love Rock and Roll and stalking off, but spoiled it by doing a scorching greatest hits set.

^ was it good?
-
• #163
Oh yes.
-
• #164
awesome! loud? I have tinnitus now - will prob need earplugs
-
• #165
Not loud enough, probably decibel limits in the venue, but you wouldn't have mistaken it for a Low gig.
-
• #166
They were as loud a band as I have heard in that venue for many years, though prob not as loud as they were BITD. They were excellent, though the sound appeared to be more setup for the Psychcandy section than the tracks at the start. Went for a pint over the road post gig, and Purple Haze was on the jukebox, it sounded like muzak after J&MC.

Ride (well Mark and Andy) acoustic set for War Child at the 100 Club last night. Really looking forward to the full band later this year.

JAMC were excellent last week.
Psychocandy played at chest crushing, ear drum destroying volume followed by an hour of greatest hits.
-
• #170
Ride's first gig for 20 years is a homecoming this Sunday at the O2, Oxford - can't wait!
-

Wellhead Inn, Wendover. Reaction Club. All of them. Every single last fucker played there.
Plus Heavenly Records parties on the ridiculous Turbosound PA installed in the function room of a country pub with scant regard for licensing laws.

Shame Ride fans are too polite to stab the twat recording the gig on his phone.
-
• #174
thankfully there were very few wielding phones - and no it wasn't me filming :) Probably a generational thing, the demographic was mainly 40 something

^ produced by Robin Guthrie.
The bump here left me searching for Lush songs.
