Today I...discovered the "odd noise under braking" was result of wet-weather gremlins reducing the strop on my u-brake to a few defiant strands.
No skids for you!

Went for an Alpkit Viper in the end. Should be here tomorrow. Costs less than most but got good reviews.

• #954
cool. let me know if you want to go a-scaring on mousehold or something!
-
• #955
I'd love to have a go at that but I'm clumsy enough in the daytime, let alone at night!!
-

I'm sure you'd be fine. Besides, it's mousehold, not the alps. The main danger is tripping over junkies and boozy kids.

Today I...told HR that I no longer want a company car, so as of 31st Oct I will be commuting by bike, just in time for winter!!
On the plus side it'll make me fitter and slash my tax bill by at least £200 a month which is more money for bikes and parts!!

Nice! :)
Today I sorted the bad parts of rust under the paint! Unfortunately it meant removing parts of the paint! Might repaint in not sure!

Today I rode 40 miles, bought some awesome Nikes and a cap and I'm currently enjoying a beer whilst my wife cooks a roast...pretty perfect Sunday by all accounts!!

Wow, mine sounds pretty crappy compared!
I got wet on the way to work, slaved away for the big green logo in the sky! Did however win a rolls saddle for 3.61 + postage

Today I've mostly been eyeing up the fire escape next to me and wondering if I could slip away unnoticed. I've been here since 8am and have put £4.50 in the register. Three more days, three more days, three more days...

Today my beard is annoying me...but it does smell lovely, new beard oil...
-
• #963
What do you use? I used to use plain old jojoba oil. Stopped for a while but thinking of investing in some more / different smell
-
• #964
I got it from Swagger & Jacks, it's the Classic Beard Oil
-
• #965
What do you reckon to it? And their place in general, been tempted to go for my hair cut (just seems a little too pricy)
-
• #966
Hair/beard cut is great, classic beard oil (I didn't get on with their other one, gave me a lobster neck) and hair products are great (teeny tub of defining gel for £3 and has lasted me a good 6 weeks so far!) and the atmosphere is great. 10/10 all round, definitely worth the money. I've been going there for a year-ish, just after they opened and I don't go anywhere else. Ask for Leo!

Would you believe it, does all of LFGSS norwich devision go there? ;)
I'm sold, going later to pick up some beard shampoo and original oil. Not really a fan of the scents on the others though i may change my mind later.
On the haircut they cut both of my friends, it's just the £19 pound for wash and cut. My barber back home would do all that for £6. Gonna blame it on down south etc

It's definitely not the cheapest place in Norwich but they do a good job in a lovely environment
-
• #969
For sure, they have a great looking place, and their beard games are on point!

Another S&J man here. Worth the extra tbh.
The Den on Lower goat Lane is good as well and a bit cheaper (£12). -

Beard oil??
I've never even....
-
• #973
You city folk are crazy.
-
• #974
Thanks for that, thats much more reasonable.
@BareNecessities Haha, gotta look dapper don't we?

I use gt85. Smells nice, and leaves behind a lasting film of ptfe. Bout a fiver for the aerosol, and lasts a fair while. Aparently, it's got other applications too; I wouldn't know about that, but as a beard oil I can't fault it.
I have a silva trailrunner. I got it on sale though! Worth getting a running specific one, as I found my petzl tikka just bounces around on my head.
