@Greenbank tomorrow or last week?
From tomorrow, just on Thursdays.
I play 5-a-side after work on a Thursday and then go to the pub. Mrs GB not too happy with me commuting home after n pints, even though I use the train for most of the journey (she's still not happy with me doing the 1km either end on the bike and so public transport and walking it is for the journey home).
So rather than get the train in on a Thursday I'll use a Boris/Ken/Jenny Bike and get the tube/train/walk home.

Overtaken by a guy this morning who proceeded to stop pedalling after he passed me. Overtook him and asked him to keep up speed if he overtakes someone. He looked at me and didn't respond. I overtook him shortly after, as he was obviously winded after overtaking me. 5 mins later he does the same exact thing. Overtakes me then stops pedalling. We get next to each other at the next light and I ask him why he did it again. No response, as he has headphones in (which is fine by me). I then full blast death metal yell at him. He is very startled and takes his headphone out. I point out the error in his ways and he thanks me and we go about our biz.
8/10 for a nice guy taking criticism without freaking out.

That's not criticism.
That's bullshit.
Pack it in. -

The better response is to overtake him and keep the pace high so he doesn't come back at you, shirley

Rode at 10mph in primary for my whole commute.

No doubt he's about to be taken up as a martyr by UKIP and other assorted right wing nutters like they did with Tony Martin (the Gypsy Killer not the cyclist).

Drove in today. Heated seat set to max. Filthy early noughties R&B set to max. Singing voice set to max.
Took a bit longer than cycling does because traffic, but that just meant more Usher / Rhagav / Wyclef to smash out.
9/10, am seriously considering fucking this cycling nonsense off.

heated seats are a revelation. as is automatic transmission. it's like driving a comfy go-kart.

Repeating other people's words of wisdom without attribution is a Scoble standard. He does usually use another thread or at least wait for a new page, to be fair.

I'm about to set off on my first commute in over a year. Longest one in over three years.
I am so concerned about clothing choice, its funny.

Pulled into a box, which I shared with an SUV. The SUV had a lady inside that was texting, and looking up to see if the light had changed every 4 or 5 seconds. She was so engaged that my staring at her didn't make her look up. Got on my bike and moved forward like I was taking off, but the light hadn't turned yet. She threw her phone in the passenger seat, shifted to 1st and started to go, then realised it was still red. She looked at me embarassed, but then picked her phone back up and started texting again.

After yesterdays slow puncture decided to do a bit of much need maintenance last night. Two new inner tubes new tires, lubed to the max.
So an 8.7/10 ride in this morning, only marred by the knobjockey undertaking on Kennington road.

Pull up alongside some one strolling away from me down the centre of the road with headphones in.
"Sorry, you know you are walking down the middle of the road"
"yes but there is no traffic"
Silly me, I always forget that my bike and I aren't traffic. -

Cold for the first five minutes then perfect. Little traffic. Only cut up once. Stately pace for eight miles.
Good stuff all round.
8/10 glad I ride again.
