Ah man! My guy in the local sneaker store (Main Source) told me spring.. didn't realise he meant spring collection kind of time. Now I'm torn between the black/speckle and the forest green.

Had the Atmos in my hands last weekend. These look very similar.
Could be tempted to buy these.

There's a lot of (imo) nice cw's coming out for SS15. I had the platinum samples with me last week, but they'll kill me if I post the other photos.
I was the first to put a sneak pic online of the all white GLIII and the salesman got a call from HQ about it..

Just a reminder that no-one ever wore these Asics ever the first time around and this fake nostalgia for a past that never existed is a fucken embarrassment all around.
Sports Direct probably still have a warehouse full of the originals somewhere.

I cannot remember asics figuring at all in the 80s and 90s. I have more love for hi-tec. I can't remember a shoe, an athlete, anything. They are knocking out good stuff ATM - thats not in question, but its not for me.

What it is is the rediscovery of everyday 80s casual. Just so happens the Gel Lytes work well. NB / Nike / Adidas been at it fo a while. Like Forrest Gumps red runners etc.

I never read anything from ASICS bragging over non-backable claims.
A good looking shoe, is a good looking shoe and I rather see 'new' oldies coming out than another rererelease of a Nike pair.
They could slow down on the collabs a bit though.

You have no idea what you are talking about...

Are these ready to wear yet? Has the hype died down?
-

On the other hand, I've always thought your input to be completely irrelevant. #justsayin B-)

Asics were well worn in places other than the UK. We were just obsessed with Nike runners, Reebok Pump, Fila Fitness and British Knights.

Dont forget Champion. Ok Maybe.

I was a bit of a casual for a couple of years in the early 80s, Nikes were just coming in so they weren't an option... It was all Adidas and Puma; Reebok, Diadora, Fila, etc came later... Nobody wore Asics, they were the kind of shoe you'd see on a Japanese tourist or a German exchange student...
I do remember a couple of bods wearing NB tho'...
edit: Apart from the Nike Wimbledon, I'd say that was Nike's breakthrough shoe on 'the street'...
Im holding out for some dark colourways in the gl5's, which im told won't be about until spring/summer next year. Tried some on though, even nicer than the 3s. Asics have spoilt my feet.
