  • Train stops on one platform, go through barrier.
Bike is locked on another platform so go through that platform's barrier.
Unlock bike & head off to work, get stuck behind the barrier.

Not that fussed about the mornings as I'm in no real hurry to get to work but the return journey is a bit of a rush.

@Pifko - nice; hadn't thought of that, maybe I'll just wait!

  • Ah, I see. No way between platforms I take it (some stations have overhead walkways or tunnels to get between platforms).

Is it any easier to get through the barrier by speaking to the person at the gate to get on to the platform where your bike is (the queues may be shorter on that side), i.e.

    Morning:-

Get off train and use ticket to get through barrier.
Ask person to get onto platform where bikes are (hopefully shorter queues this side).
Use ticket to get back through barrier.

    Evening:

Ask person to get through barrier with bike.
Lock bike up, use ticket (first time) to get back out.
Use ticket (second time) to get onto right platform for departing train.
