Probably between 30mins and an hour. It was easy to get the majority off but the last few specs are really stubborn.

Found some nice looking shiny silver shallow drops in the VO shop:

And over 100 grams.

I have narrowed my choice to the Bontrager SSR VR vs the Nitto M106 NAS.
The Bontrager is half the price but the Nitto is stiffer?
The 124 drop vs 128 is difference insignificant, the reach is 85 vs 78 is preety close too..
I think generally, the under 300 gram bars are flexy and the 350 gram bars are weighty. -

From post #4:
"Bontrager SSR VRC - cheap
Soma Hwy One - expensive"Not in North America, the Soma is $35 to $47.

Anyone know if the piega compacts are a thing of the past? Can't find them anywhere...looks like a spotter is the closest thing? Cheers

I was looking at some compact Piegas in Condor yesterday.
I think the Bontrager vr c 26.0 has been discontinued.

Has anyone else found the lowest position of the bontragers to be quite short and without a nice flat section? At least my smallish hands just dont seem to fit in there, leaving a gap in the middle of the palm and thus leading to uneven pressure. An extra bulge of handlebar tape in the right spot might help but...

Soma HY1 would be your better bet.

Out of stock for ages, SJS say that Soma keep pushing back the delivery date. And I was told by a source that Soma are being dropped by their UK distro

In that case, the bar shape seemed to be identical to the one Velo Orange sell.

This might seem picky but I think it's worth considering subtleties in different bar shape beyond the advertised dimensions. For example, one thing I particularly like about the Nitto M106 is the tube profile shape at the transition from top to bend; it's squared off more than, say, the Velo Orange listed ones above (to my eyes, anyway), and makes the flat transition extremely comfortable. Since the flat transition is one of the things that people seem to like in compact bars, it's probably worth considering.

I have some, they're fanastic bars, they really are. Its just annoying having to order them from Japan. They cost a lot too.
Heres a photo of them on my bike:

Where sells them in the UK though?
EDIT - Oh freshtripe does:

Weren't they a tad ergo shaped though?? Thought the only ones about are more ergo with a flat section midway through the curve of the drop, vs the entirely smooth shaped compacts which are obvsly more sexy.

^Much like your bicycle, spotter.
did it take long?
