It is an alu frame and dependent on the abuse it gets it may fail. This is not limited to Dolan Pre Cursa's of course, a few years back Cannondale's were called cracknfale which presumably arose from a good few of them having issues.

I gotta say, surely you would never expect a frame to snap.
Frames still snap. It's usually fat people or couriers though so it's best to be neither of these.
Road frames from decent companies are increasingly warranteed for years (if not life). It's trickier if you're using a track frame on the road.

I have a pre-cursa and have raced it on the track for a season and now use it to commute on. They are definitely 'fit for purpose'. I love it.
