  • Depends where you're based? There are loads around London.

  • Knew i had forgotten something, either in Battersea area or ramsgate/margate area thanks !

  • Try Metropolis in Vauxhall, think they do CBT

  • ........ but only do your CBT there.

  • This. Their training school is great but their shop is full of arseholes.

  • benign weather for first time in a week, enjoyable commute

  • Envious of the Triumph, looked up the nc700s and was surprised by the performance figures, actually slower than my CB500. Looks absolutely beastly so I was quite surprised. Very nice bike nonetheless.

  • Liars and meeting the owner did fuck all to change the staff attitude.

  • Made a few changes, got rid of the bar end mirrors for originals, new bar ends and grips (99p from wilkos for the grips!) replaced old exhaust which was rusty as fook and had been hammerited (badly) by a previous owner. Bike running well, aside from doesn't like the cold mornings. Still to do, a bit more fiddling rectifying wiring , service brakes and check plugs, maybe look at forks as a bit spongy, heavier oil maybe? Bit out of my comfort zone working on bikes but expecting a Haynes manual for Xmas... Pretty happy with it all together, and has come in under a grand, which for how it rides I think is a deal.

  • Amazing how not much has changed over the years - 2 wheels - a seat - some bars - blue paint. And they say the world has moved on...sheeesh...obviously I haven't.

  • @Soul Hand guards make a massive difference if you're doing anything over 30 for a sustained period.

Someone nicked my rain cover off my bike last week!

  • I'm not sure about rain-covers - they keep the rain off and the moisture in. Even when it isn't raining. better to oil up wherever possible. I think.

  • Yeah; they're nice. I think when i get around to wiring up the LEDs they'll be even nicer.

I'm still having major issues with the heated grips; yesterday, using the detached the epoxy resin bond so i had to strip the throttle grip again, key and re-apply some even stronger resin. If this doesn't work, i'll remove the heated grips and go back to rubber ones.

  • You shouldn't need them with the guards

  • I'm selling my Varadero XL125 to fund my DAS & a bigger bike in the new year, if anyone's after something to learn on post-CBT?

Knock 250 off if you're on here :)

  • What do you think is the best bike for the winter? I always dream of some kind of adventure bike when i'm freezing my way to work, but they look so heavy - i wouldn't want to have to pick one up off the ice if i slipped over, and there is so much to break!
    Maybe some kind of dirtbike?

  • A car.

  • Nice bike. Great L-plate 125.

  • I just got back from a holiday in Goa recently where my fair lady and I chugged around on this good looking death trap, much fun. Anyone care to share some India/Bali/Thailand/Vietnam biking tales?

  • Was with 4-5 peeps and decided to skip the Enfields - rented an old yamaha 2 stroke think it was a 350 in Leh, ladakh years ago. They were on twist-and-go's that could barely make it around up the hills, but easy.

Once we were out and about It was amazing. About 30 mins in I was feeling great, full of life, had a girl on the back and then slid out doing about 6 mph on a dusty road. Snapped a lever and bent the rear brake too.. No injuries except my pride.

Luckily, the Indian Army had a few guy passing who saw, and they had some pliers on them which I used with my first aid kit tape to help me bodge the broken brake onto the clutch, and I rigged the clutch to work when I grabbed the bare cable. It was fine for the next couple of hundred miles and monasteries we went to, though the clutch slipped if I turned the bars too much. The girl decided she was safer on the back of a scooter for the rest of the day. :D

My first and hopefully last motorcycle crash.

  • Not exactly an adventure, but a good laugh yesterday doing this in the sunshine:-

the bikes took 25 minutes to leave the car park at the start

  • Possibly one of my most speculative posts; but would anyone be up for riding to the Nürburgring and back in the spring. I've got this idea about riding there on a back crippling superbike with just a backpack and seeing what happens. Really I'm looking for somebody to share the pain with.
