He drinks a lot of beer. As a consequence, he developed the nickname "hoppy" derived from the hops that flavoured the beer and which oozed out of his pores. The vast consumption of this alcoholic beverage, coupled with his strine accent meant that he was unable correctly to articulate the word "hoppy" when he came to England and everyone thought that he was saying that he was called hippy instead.
True Story

Actually, he started to dislike 'hoppy' when everybody strongly associated this with the kangaroos native to his homeland, and as the shy and retiring type he was never one to play up where he came from.

Blown away hippy, great work.
Have you considered the journey back by bike and pedalo?
-
• #122
We all should celebrate when you get back in the country.

Good idea. We could do a 24 hour forum ride.

It would end up taking 36 hours at a minimum

I think the multiplier increases exponentially versus distance, any ride to the pub is at least x1.5, London > Brighton is about x3, so if we apply the same theory to time, I think it would be about a fortnight.
Well, champion.
Well done Hippy!
