  • 8 teeth not enough? Nb smaller chain rings will make 8 teeth loads.

    My old pomp was 32x12 fixed ( fairly close to 70 gi, normal off the peg fixed gi), which would give you at least 32x20... Which is surely spiny enough?

    If you combined it with a double up front you could make up for the drop on the back with a similar bigger chainring at the front, then the wheel hardly moves and brakes can work in both set ups...
    Ie 36x13 and 32 x17

    By the way in my experience not changing the chain is about a million times better than changing it!

  • Excellent thanks! We'll see if I get this Pomp... I almost bought one when they were £99 for the frame-set on Planet X but dithered and now they're up to £150 again.

    I've never tried SSCX but I can't imagine I'd need more than 50ish gi for the stuff I run on around here (which would be where I think I'd ride mostly). c. 70gi on the road is what I ride as well so it could be ideal.
