Just stepped off the sleeper and was crossing Euston road at the lights just outside. Behold a London Tri FKW wobbling his TT bike through the lights and peds trying to cross while failing to get into his cleats.
What a welcome back to London's famous London!

Traffic on the North-of-the-river half of my commute was crazy on Friday and just as bad this morning. I usually enjoy the wing-mirror slalom but it´s been ticklish. Anyway, grizzled nodder shows up after the Fulham Road junction and, while not fast in the open road, is very competitive at filtering, determined to get to the front, monstering other cyclists and motorbike couriers, cutting people up. So desperate that he does a terrible RLJ at the (ugly, busy, many-laned) West Cromwell Road junction, nearly splatting a suicide ped who was attempting to dash from the NW to SE corner. They yelled at each other. Then the lights changed, the two idiots had to move and, given empty road ahead, every cyclist he´d annoyed on the last few sections left him in the dust. Cheered me up.

I got called out by a moped rider for doing a Dancing James. I was in a rush going up Tooley st with a lot of stationary traffic on both sides outside London Bridge. He started filtering down but had to use my side of the road and I was unwilling to yield given I wanted to do the same (though without needing his side of the road). We couldn't get past each other and I stood there arms folded. He called me out for 'making a thing of it'. I felt a little sheepish but after 10secs justified.

Apologies to the dayglo road warrior I called out earlier in Stratford. He sat himself proudly in front of me at the lights and then completely blocked me off while missing both his pedals and flailing around like a big orange ostrich while the car behind us grew impatient and sat revving at the entrance to my holiest of holys.
Your mighty comeback of "ooooh fuck off" was poorly met by my "don't be a fucking div". We were neither of us covered in glory. Let's call the whole thing an awkward quits?

Lovely amble into work, just about made it in before it started tipping down, only had to call one bloke in a van a wanker and that was being pedantic, almost certain he didn't hear me so hopefully it didn't ruin his day either. Got undertaken by a cyclist while I was waiting behind a lorry indicating left, cyclist then obviously did the same to the lorry, poor trucker was not happy, I tried to convey "sorry on his behalf, we're not all like that" with a facial gesture but not sure it worked - 8/10
Wrong thread lol

If it cheers anybody up, the Belfast police was out giving RLJ cyclists a stern talking to this morning. Some weapons come off the kerb at random times into the road near near where I work.
I'd have fined them. Talk is cheap, a fine isn't. If you don't know jumping a red light is illegal, you've no place on the road.
(It's not a road where you have to do it because the junction is highly unsafe)

@JWestland what is your view on amber gamblers?
-
• #10840
It depends, I see people leave a little earlier to get ahead of traffic. That's OK assuming some moron in a car isn't going to jump the light you need to be green... ;)
Leaving it too late and going through red, like cars is bound to cause irritation, esp. as some Belfast traffic lights are poorly timed and even the earliest amber results in going through red.

Love it when I do the leaving early thing and a driver is paying more attention to me than the lights and goes too. Even better if I'm just moving from foot down to track standing and they do it.

To the daredevil on the Boris Bike this morning who flew down and through the red lights at the bottom of Southwark Bridge and across to Queen Street. The lights had just switched to amber moving to green on Lower Thames Street when you went flying through head up. A few seconds later and I hate to think what might have happened.
Did like the fact that the 3 of us who had stopped all shook our heads and then turned round and shrugged at the cars behind.

A CSB from a colleague: A cyclist on an unlit narrow country road, with no lights, no reflectors, no hi-vis vest and of course wearing black clothes.
My colleague is still not sure how they avoided hitting him. Well done, way to bring up the already ridiculously high death rate on the NI roads.
Ninja cyclists are unfortunately a big thing ATM in Belfast, about 50% of cyclists have no lights. I'm too jaded to shout abuse at them by now or stop and explain for £8 you get very good LEDs lights in Tesco's.

Busengered this morning as I had a hangover and it was -4C. As I put my hand out to flag down a bus, I almost hit a woman riding her bike in the gutter on the wrong side of the road directly towards the bus that was pulling in to stop. No idea how that didn't end horribly.
Also no idea how the fuck she got there and why.

Full kit wankers are out in force today.
One almost slammed into the back of me then jumped the light I stopped for and then a little along bumped his carbon shit up onto the pavement and back down off the pavement to pass a stopped truck. He wasn't even fast so I got to see him hop on and off of the pavement a handful more times to cycle across a ped crossing instead of just balls out jumping the lights. Wasn't dark but I'm sure the ninja apart from pink overshoes would be the same if it was.
Another I see often such a norbury di-va in his yellow kit jumping every light.

Chap who rode into the back of me and used my rear mudguard as brake - idiot.
I was slowing for a cyclist in front who in turn was slowing for a left turning lorry. Both of us managed to stay upright but I'm not sure how.

Utter fixeh whopper in Chiswick on a stickered Cinelli Mash at 1pm today. Yes I called you out for riding like an idiot. Gutter riding, red light jumping, Bambi's first steps were more convincing than your track stand. It appears you struggle to get both feet into your pedal straps, you wobble and can barely control your speed. You have no fucking idea of what is behind you as you never look behind. Filtering up the inside of left indicating traffic, rolling through the red light and stopping across the mouth of the junction they are going to turn into was impressive, trying to take one hand off the bars while you wobbled in your track stand and had to put a foot down was fucking beautiful.
When called out you said you had been riding like that for 3 years and that I had to get it out of my mind that having a brake would make you safer! FFS you could barely handle your bike, you nervously wobble along at about 10mph and still pose a danger to yourself and those around you.
