I don't know about this. I had gotten the feeling that Lauda was a bit of a Lewis fanboy, from some of his remarks, and also that he appears to like seeing top notch racers. I don't think Nico is considered the same quality of racer that Lewis, Alonso and Ricciardo are.
As for Mansel, I think for a heavier bloke, he was pretty spectacular.
