Really depends on how much you want to spend and what you want to do with it, it's like everything else, you get what you pay for.
Centrifugal is the obvious choice.

I was hoping to keep it under £100, but i can stretch it if its worth it.

Make sure it's a solid one, that's all I can say
Philips Avance HR1871 Whole Fruit Juicer with XXL Tube, 800 Watt: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home
this is what I've got and it's been going for over 12 months now.The main difference is on what you want to do with it. Slower, quieter and slightly more limited in use is a twin gear user (apparently better at extracting juice as it does it so at a lower speed so it keeps better)

I have had a Magimix Le Duo for about ten years, they do the job and cost around one hundred.

Le dredge!
Looking to get a juicer as well. Are the above recommendations still valid? Has there been any market breakthroughs since? Is the Philips Avance HR1871 still going?

If you plan on actually using it a lot it's worth going masticating . We started with the Philips Avance but after burning out the motor of two within the first month we had had enough . They're not cheap at around £200 and are maybe fine for infrequent use or juicing softer stuff, but if you want a great product that delivers more goodness and lasts look for something from Omega or similar brands at UK juicers . We went for this and haven't looked back

Don't really want to spend 300ish tbh. My main reason for it is that I miss Innocents smoothies here in Sweden, and with a juicer and a hefty spend on fruits, I should be able to make my own. I'll prob juice a batch once or twice a week, prob mostly soft things, ie oranges, mangoes, kiwis etc
How long does the juice keep btw? Week in the fridge ok?

edit.
This is about juicers not blenders

I've got a masticating juicer and it's pretty good for most things, it's a Matstone 6 in 1 and we use it everyday, makes good juices and not too bad to clean. Does take a while to get through the veg (about 20mins to juice 1.5 pints and clean up, I do this before I go to work so I have to be quick)
Got into it after watching Fat Sick and Nearly Dead
Defo go second hand if you can, these things ain't cheap!

Depends on what you store it in , we use one of those metal SIGG type containers but you can also use something glass and airtight so long as it's full to the brim . Here's the kicker if your juice is juiced centrifugal style it lasts fully potent for a maximum of 24 hours yet a masticated juice is full strength for up to 72 max . Also you should know the nutritional value is higher to start with in the latter .
I am looking into getting a juicer. i have no idea what's a good one.
Any recommendations?
I plan to juice fruit and vegetables, hard and soft, so need a fairly robust one.
something relatively fancy will be nice but i cant pay the earth for it.
Thanks in advance.
