Much as I like my Pompetamine, if I was building it again, I'd opt for a Pompino frame paired with disc forks, purely for flexibility. Hub choice is limited for 135mm sliding dropouts, and fixed with two brakes (safety first, fun last) is only possible using a Surly 1x1 hub or much more expensive options. I'd use the Cane Creek long pull drop levers with a v-brake on the rear and BB7 MTB on the front.
