57cm restored Ciclo Piave town bike

  • Selling this bike on behalf of a relative who built it but its too big for him. Very nice vintage lugged frame with chrome head lugs, fork crown and dropouts, professionally refinished recently. Ciclo Piave is a lesser known but well respected north-Italian regional framebuilder, still going I believe.

    Measurements (ctc unless indicated)
    57 top tube
    55 seat tube

Built as comfortable single speed town bike with brand new generic alloy 700c wheels (single sided freewheel), long drop brakes, town bars, original cottered cranks. Rather unsympathetic finishing kit but would be nice with fat tanwalls and a brooks.
    £225
Dibs is fine but cash is king, bike is in Brixton, PM for a viewing.

  • This bike should have quite a history behind. Nothing to share?
Yes, they are still going, which is to say something for a small family run company who only sold locally and never sponsored a team.

  • Well my in-laws come from Treviso and picked up the frame locally, but unfortunately don't know anything of its back story. I agree its a decent feat for them still to be around http://www.classicrendezvous.com/Italy/Piave-ciclo.htm

  • Oh forgot to mention it comes with a spare head badge, which is nice because it looks like Blunkett painted the one that's on now.

  • Bella Bella.

  • Dibs! Will pm now
