  • i have a gipiemme disc wheel and rear H3 both wheels are absent of a lockring thread however they have original track hubs. its confusing- there is the thread that i put the cog on, i get that on nice and tight, and then there is no thread for a lockring. gonna be honest -it holds up to skids very well, just like there was a lockring there, been using for a few months and its never skipped, spun off, etc. i think ive been told by someone not everyone uses lockrings on the track, is this true? and these wheels worth less than ones with the lockring thread, or the same price?

It's confusing to a 12-year old who doesn't realise that in the olden days, multiple freewheels were attached to that single 1.37×24RH thread for use in time trials. They are not track wheels, they are road wheels.
