The price to the customer is the cost of the item plus the cost of shipping. If it's too much, you don't buy it. Well assuming you're not running it as a service and offsetting against the overall margin, it can be averaged out over all sales transactions and added to the original item price as a percentage rather than a fixed fee. It's what they already do with incoming shipping costs.
