Not in my opinion.

Pedal Pedlar are usually a bit on the expensive side, they sold the frame for £375 and surely it's worth around £200 given the conditions. The Athena stuff on e-bay seems to go for crazy prices, so the guy spent some money on it. I think it's still worth more than £400 given you're getting a in-great-condition bike and don't have to play with eBay and on here to look for components and put everything up together.
-
• #52229
Yeah, right - to a certain extent you are paying for the labour, and a fully serviced bike. Would £600-700 be about right?
-
• #52230
As a top price, could be. Again, this is because it's a restored bike (by someone else) on eBay and he paid £375 for the frame alone + components + wheelset + labour, so yeah.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kids-track-bike-/171535917110 steel neill orrell kids track bike.
Doesn't state wheel size or frame size, but it looks quite small so could be a 650C. Worth asking perhaps?

I'm not disputing there's a profit margin here, or whether that's excessive, reasonable or otherwise - I'm just trying to establish some sort of bass value. Schnitter says it ain't worth any more than £400, and I think that's just nonsense.
-
• #52235
I think £400 is way too low for that one too and £1600 is also too high.
Well for me even £1200 is :)But I can't assess it's right price, simply don't have the knowledge.

Nice Holdsworth La Quelda on Gumtree. Seller said the bike was bought by his father for his mother back in the 1948 so that she could ride with him with the local club.
http://www.gumtree.com/p/bicycles/w-holdsworth-frame-/1087319487
I was thinking of getting it. You can still see the original box linings on it.
But can't afford another project :(The La Quelda frames were made from a special tubing Holdsworth and Reynolds worked together on. They were made of 531 if the customer would require it. This one has a sticker which seems to say Reynolds 531, but the seller says 501 in the ad.

^^ that seatpost looks possibly properly stuck
-
• #52249
Could be. I asked and haven't got a response for that. But also asked for pictures of the fork crown and when I'll get it I'll ask again. If it's not stuck, it is a good deal for a nice frame.
But you'd need to find a seatpost clip for that seatpost pin.UPDATE: he replied and seatpin is not stuck (sent a picture without pin in)
Issue is finding the seat pin clamp!
But it's worth more than £400, no?
