Your bottle should should be between the arms.

That's a 550km sportive. Aero bars weren't allowed.
Which is a shame. My hands were the first thing to fatigue.
-
• #529
Use the bottle as a makeshift aero bars.
moar aeros.

I'm looking at all the drag created by those poker straight forearms and tut-tutting.

Also lol @ ed giving advice on aerodynamics.

Eds love of bar bags is on the money though.
A small cleverly placed bar bag might make for way around the no aero bars rule.
-
• #534
do it
-
• #535
Perhaps more surprising to many, front bags were more aerodynamic than
rear ones. A handlebar bag was more aerodynamic than a Carradice
saddlebag that extended just slightly beyond the hips of the rider.
Front panniers (on low-rider racks) were more aerodynamic than rear panniers. -

I'll dig the duct tape out.....

I think I am going to get flat bars for my next bike and let the industry sweat out the
cancer of cable operated discs on road bikes.Even entry level trekking bikes now come with hydro discs but somehow some manufacturers
think it's ok to spend £2000+ on a road/cross bike with cable discs. -
• #538
Unless it have compressionless, or HY/RD that is.
-
• #540
For you it's perfect, i think they got the geometry nailed nicely, and would love to own one.
Bear in mind that I need the reach of a 54cm bike and the stack of a 58cm bike, made worse by wearing glasses (have to crane my neck to see properly on normal glasses), hence why the Saracen is the only bike for me (big headtube with short reach).
-
• #541
Yeah. Te geo is about right on a 58 for me. It's low enough. Just use a 120 stem which is fine.
The saracen is better, having mudguard tabs, why the Focus doesn't is just stupid! When are they out? Do you know?

@Smallfurry Why are you being attacked by an 80s sci fi laser?

Does anyone know anymore details about the new Dolan disc brake road bike? It appeared briefly on their Twitter a while ago

Ask the man who headbutt reporter on twitter?

He's not giving anything away on Twitter, thought someone on here might have insider knowledge

Laser shooting land octopus live on the mountain. You can only see them with my special dimension shift visor though. Usually I'd outrun them with my sonic fluoro shoes. But they need charging.
.......... That's my excuse for buying a silly aero Road bike and I'm sticking to it!

I am not saying they are not available, I just don't see why I should pay
£2500+ for a complete bike to get them because it's nothing new.
They have been proven for decades on MTBs, hybrids etc. Also these workaround solutions like HY/RD etc just delay the complete switch.
For me the hydraulic part is more important than discs.hydr. disc > hydr. rim > obsolete crap

It's new for a road bicycle, but you don't need to pay that much for hydraulic, for example the Cannondale CAADX Rival hydraulic is £1400.
Next year, I'll carry far less, ride faster, and Wear a jersey that hasn't become too big. :(
