Looks like it'll have to be that way for me with the TCX, too! The engineering shop don't want to weld the frame and I can understand why, especially considering the abuse the bike will be taking, can't risk a breakage!... Back to the drawing board!

Wouldn't it work better (and be an easier conversion) as a push-up tensioner?
-
• #2608
I would prefer the push-up method and will look into how to achieve that with the derailleur, it wasn't obvious to me at the time lol

I think that was taken last year in the state where the owner put a bigger gears on because of the longer flat stages.
Hylex are awesome without a doubt.

Can you not lose a couple of links from the chain? Not much engagement on that sprocket.
-
• #2613
Doesn't look possible, otherwise the pulley will interfer with the sprocket due to the short body.

4/10 shitty filming, much shake etc

Steady cam was swallowed by the ocean.

That's the shortest I can get it, otherwise, like said, the jockey interferes with the sprocket. When I had the 36/17 combo on there was about 2mm clearance! I'm going to revisit the whole tensioner method asap - want did of the butchered mech though it does do its job!

That's pretty awesome dude, was that the one with the 74 degrees headtube?
-
• #2623
Pls explain?
-
• #2624
Yes Ed. I will share the drawings soon. I ended up with 70mm bb drop, 73.5 head tube, 1010mm axel to axel slammed 40/21T. 1030mm 40/19T in the photos. Quite pleased with the handling. Even with the slight toe overlap

The d day comment.
I used to run my singlespeeds with a butchered Tourney. Much better than the sprung tensioner it replaced.
