  • Just had an email from TFL, (sure someone else will have posted elsewhere). The ban on lorries over 3.5 tons in London without safety devices looks like it might get the go ahead after 90% of respondents agreed with it.

  • fab news, :-)

    bring on the safety devices..

  • Ha ha! That's made my evening.

  • It's funny, I had no idea this was going on:

Or, for that matter, just about every protest of the last couple of years, with a few exceptions. You used to hear about these things from stickers on lampposts or flyers. Now they must all be promoted through (anti-) 'social media', which, with the exception of this forum, I don't use, generally preferring social immedia.

  • Ah, I'd wondered why there were so many police officers out manning barricades in Parliament Square and outside Buckingham Palace

  • Osborne gets fronted money to pay off a bill, claims it as an exceptional feat of negotiating prowess unseen since Chamberlain.

  • so we still paid the £1.7bn ..... well done george, someone needs to explain the concept of " netting of payments " to him, you would have thought economics at oxford might teach you that

way to hold out against cronyism in europe, their £2bn of wasted money in the last year, unaudtied accounts etc etc

  • Way to pay what we committed to pay before it became due, well done us for having a surprisingly healthy economy despite Dave and George's best efforts.

  • Its like bitching about having to pay tax on overtime pay and annual bonuses.

  • It's pathetic, is what it is. This has become an island of petulant children in the eyes of the rest of Europe (and a lot of people here, actually).

It may be that a referendum on the EU will be the only thing that will bring an end to it. Unfortunately, I don't have much hope for that being a well-balanced and reserved discussion.

  • i wonder how badly camoron and osbourne got slapped down at their respective meetings in the last 24hrs
    pay or gtfo ?

I think the contrast to the "Better together" campaign is going to be interesting on many levels - including the voter turnout.

I'd also like to see some economic analysis (that can be trusted) as I suspect that we get a lot more return for being in than we would for being out.

My economic assumptions aside, I don't go down the Eddie Izzard route of calling myself a European, but I do like living in a country that is part of Europe in a meaningful way.

Sadly the current bunch of Purple, Blue, Red and Yellow grossly entitled children who are currently running around in Westminster are, to a person, cunts it would seem.

So who knows where we'll end up - I expect I'll vote Green at the next election, simply because they seem less revolting than all the others.

  • Have you read any of the Greens economic policy? That was written by children, I think.

  • A difficult choice but I think I'd prefer an innocent childs view to that of a selfish cynical adult.

No, I have not - I'll have to do a bit of research ahead of the next election I admit.

  • Considering it says elsewhere that policies have to be costed and approved by the membership before inclusion, that seems vastly more adult than the current setup.

  • free organic quinoa for all ?

  • Greens ftw!

  • Shut up and take my vote!

Probably texting and pissed. I imagine a two year ban and suspended jail term owing to her good charity work will be the outcome of this

  • So what are the legal implications of this? We've discussed this fleeing from the scene crap before in this thread. As far as I can remember it was concluded that from the viewpoint of the driver it is always the best idea to flee.

  • Big fucking surprise.

    It's pretty much legal.
