Alex Dowsett smashing everyone to bits at tonight's track league apparently.
-
• #153
Was he on a crack-yon?
-
• #154
Dunno, I wasn't there. I hear he was spinning an 88" gear.
-
• #155
As anyone who has raced against Ethan and Freddie this year will know, being on 88" doesn't hide talent...
He was on a standard Canyon V-Drome with clinchers and while his absolute top end might have been capped, it wasstill damn hard! -

FFFFFFUUUUUUUUU
Just been promoted from B to A.
Losing all my points and now I'm in for some serious racing. How can anyone win overall in B cat though? As soon as someone's on top of the table he will get promoted to the A's, surely. -

I think they're adjusting judging on results in the first few meets. Then, once the season is in full swing, there won't be any changes.
Should've sandbagged...

Racing against people who are better than you is the best way to improve.
-
• #159
That's true, but I wasn't looking at improving during this winter, just sandbagging mostly. My plan is ruined now.

just sandbagging mostly
I was just going to say ... :)
Congratulations.

Points system similar to HHV would make more sense...or at least give a better overall impression of where people are ranked between all 3 leagues.

Just entered this. Anyone wanna form a sprint team with me?
I guess they don't actually want a 4 man sprint team for 3 laps...
Special Events - Monday 24th November
The outline plan for the special events night on Monday 24th November is as follows;Male
2km 4 up team pursuit
750m 4 up team sprint
Match sprints
Mystery scratch elimination
Keirin
MadisonFemale
1.5km 3 up team pursuit
750m 3 up team sprint
Match sprints

Entries close at 11pm on Monday 17th November, after which time we will decide on the FINAL race programme based on the number and level of the riders who have entered.Remember that points earned DO NOT count towards your league totals. Madison events will only be open to experienced riders.
You may ONLY use your regular, track league compliant bike. No adaptations/additions will be permitted.
Best regards,

All those people in the track league standings belonging to cycling clubs - do the clubs organise track events for their members, such as training etc, or are they just individuals who've gone their own way with accreditation, training etc at LVV, and are racing under their club name, which they normally do road stuff with?
Would like to join a club that had regular sessions at LVV.

I made a few enquiries to local clubs about that recently...only one I found was http://www.cyclingclubhackney.co.uk

I'm sure I've seen Finsbury Park CC having track sessions for their gang too.
I think it depends on how many members of the club are interested in doing track sessions.

Pretty sure VCL has done track days at LVVP but don't know how often
-
• #167
I'm sandbagging with the C's. No way do I want to be moved up. Even if I wasn't unfit, Monday nights are a no-go for me
-
• #168
I'm using that one next time I get my arse handed to me in a race.
"It's ok, I'm just sandbagging"

Went down to watch tonight and saw some good racing...fyi no-one asked me to pay anything on the way in. There were a couple of little crashes near the end of the last scratch, pretty much everyone looked knackered!
-
• #170
That was great! I've not enjoyed getting my ass kicked like that in a long time.

Didn't refresh page to see your reply :)

That race was great entertainment...the guy on the red PX made a small attack at 5 laps to go and no-one chased...seemed more concerned with marking each other. The camera should've stayed on him because he was really suffering; weaving about a bit on the last lap. He deserved the win, too bad he got pipped on the line.

Well that was a very good night and a fairly successful one for the LFGSS representatives with Rob and I both getting on the score sheet :)
thanks, you're right, that was easier than 3. passed and entered to race on 24th
