For sale: Reynolds 531 Pro / Special Lightweight complete Tube Set NIB + lugs + braze on parts

DIY ! Complete frame building kit.

For sale is a complete Reynolds 531 Special Lightweight Tubeset in original Box, coming with BB shell and seatlug + any braze on part you will need to complete a frame + Decals. Only the lugs for the long- and downtube are missing. The forkblades are straight (!), BB shell is from Cinelli (SuperCorsa), while the lugs, the fork crown and braze on parts are probably also Cinelli (or Bocama, not sure). Also not sure why the decals dont match the boxing. Whole frameset weights a little above 2000gr, so judge yourself. I am asking 450.00 GBP o.b.o. including registered shipping with DHL inside EU including GB . I am located in Germany. If you have any questions, please dont hesitate to ask :)

I also have another 2 couples of Suntour GS dropouts rearside, 1 couple Suntour GS frontside dropouts, 1 Seatlug with short cut out, several downtube shifter braze-on sockets and several front deraileur braze-ons. ask for more information if you need one of the items.

This would become a great frame.
I can see some lovely detailing pieces (like brake bridge 'bosses' [don't know how they are called]), chain stays bridge and chain boss.

What are those two 'little wings' for ?

the "little wings" are for the upper part of the rear stays, to cover the cut of the stay.

531Pro replaced 531SL in about 1980 or thereabouts and i believe they are identical....but 531SL decals can be bought from Nick Lloyd and his are 'official' licensed through Reynolds.
PS...SL meant Special Lightweight....it had to be silver brazed.

I've just found someone on bikeforums saying that 531SL used 531 stays, 531 pro used 753 stays.

Maybe this chart means something to someone!

Skully....i know 653 used 753 stays but 531SL i think used 531 stays....i think and this is a guess from memory that 531pro was a rebadge job....531SL needs to be silver soldered like 753.

For correctness just get a licensed set of 531SL decals from Lloyd's.

If you can afford it...do it....these tubesets come up very rarely these days....but you need to find a builder who could work with it...Steve Goff in Liverpool could be your man.

This is very tempting but I have a garage full. However, I can confirm Steve Goff (Skelmersdale) would do a very, very nice job. I purchased an old set of Columbus SL tubing a couple of years ago and Steve pieced together a lovely silver-soldered fixed wheel frame with Fleur-de-lys lugs. He has also done several other frame renovations for me and the work has always been exemplary

If you want something special building with this, then Kevin Sayles is the man...fab lug worker

That just made me look at his website - blimey, he is great value and nice stuff too…..

I spoke to him today..very helpful.... He must be the cheapest ' good' steel custom frame builder in the UK.
