  • Adrienne am I right in hearing you have your own machine now? Are you available for some filling in of black ink? Easy-peasy job. An hour's worth of digging.

  • I'm down with the personalised gift idea, but it's hard when you've never been tattoed by somebody.

Having said that, I went with cash, as I'm pretty fucking chuffed.

@dubkev: I have only done line work so far, and even then want more practice before I start packing.

  • OK. I dont mind being used as practice material if you need some skin for working with a filler needle. Let me know.

  • I tipped the guy on Gozo who did my most recent one as I felt he undercharged, fit me in almost immediately as a walk-in around locals appointments, told us a great local cafe to try in a village we were heading to and was generally an absolute dude.

Would I tip a super-pricey tattooist in London who I'd waited many months to see and charges by the hour what I earn in a day? No chance.

    All about the context

  • Cool, interesting feedback from all. Puts it all into perspective.

@dubkev: I need to get some disposable stuff before I work on others, I'll keep you posted.

  • Kev, I'll do it.

  • any recommendations for good artists/studios in edinburgh?

  • Red, Hot and Blue? Alec in particular.

  • If you want realism then Alex Rattray at Bizarre ink orrrrr a cheaper version without the waiting time, Marcian at Inkdependent is a beast.

  • I was wandering around Louth as we finished clinic a little early and stumbled across:
    https://www.facebook.com/drew.lefox

Pretty decent little shop. Considering getting a small piece done.

Also- like everyone in Louth- they were absurdly friendly.

  • Very nice. Curious to see this finished!

  • Deepest darkest louth lincs. Kin ell.
Proper rural. Ill be in lincs fir xmas with wrinklies. 'Watch out for them yorkies'.....

  • Been thinking of getting a tattoo for ages but couldn't really decide what and where... Finally, a very sad event occurred at home has now prompted me to get my first tattoo to memorise these last couple of months, and I want a reminder of how to live my life from now on. So I want to get your opinions on the wordings:

First half will be 'Today could be your last day on earth' and 2nd half could of anything and I can't quit decide...

    • make it worthwhile
    • live it with no regrets
    • make it the best day of all
    • don't waste it

Or any other suggestion will be appreciated.

    Ta

  • To me the most simple and consequential would be "..live it as if it is / was"
(sorry, not a native speaker, but I think you get what I mean).

Might as well condense it all to carpe diem.

  • Carpe diem seems too common...

  • Today could be your last day on earth, time for coke and hookers.

  • Today could be your last day on earth, don't worry about putting the bins out.

  • Live fast, diarrhea.

  • If 'carpe diem' is too common, 'live for today' or 'live the day' would be the obvious choices, translations...but I quite like the fuck the bins angle!

  • Got a new idea this morning, gonna see the tattoist today...

    'Fight till the last breath'

This accurately sums up what happened these last few weeks.

  • Had another long session with Raph Cemo on Friday.
One more session in the new year and this will be finished... (on my arm at least, anyway!)

  • How long has all that taken? Back in early 2013, that arm was bare, wasn't it?
