I usually ignore headtube length as they can varies due to fork length and BB drop.

These don't really vary much between race bikes though do they?

Eds right. Even within my relatively small shortlist for a New road bike there where big differences.

Some of the aero road bikes had massive headtubes, for a given stack, to get the most out of the 3:1 rule.
Yet some where the opposite. The Scott foil has a fork 15mm longer than most, and Argon 18 have 8mm more BB drop than most.

These were all race bikes, specifically all aero race bikes, yet you could be 20mm out With Your front end height if only looked at head tube length.

Maybe it might be worth thinking about not having those normal jersey with everything you own crammed into the back pocket.
