Nice watches @tomsvoboda
JLC looks big, didn't realise it was so. -

Thanks mate. It's 39mm so only a tiny bit smaller than the sub. It's closer to the lens slightly so it's maybe looking a bit bigger because of that? It certainly sits very snugly and noticeably lighter than the sub!

Yup, nice Sub... I found myself staring longingly at some bloke's on the tube this morning...
Tudor can still fuck off...

Thanks man. The 'm' versions still use the old cases and straps but have the new internals. New case design didnt suit me..
You should've seen the Southampton boat show, Deepseas were regular issue. Along w pink Ralph lauren shirts, white chinos and deck shoes. Knobs... -

Nice collection VanUden, is it you that bought a Lord Marvel Hi-Beat too? I can't afford a GS or King Seiko at the moment so was going to aim a little lower.
Are they serviced in the UK, also do you wear a manual watch regularly?

Thanks inchpincher I did pick up a Lord Marvel Hi-Beat, silly name, lovely watch, really simple but remarkably well made. The 6145-8000 'Grammar of Design' auto Hi-Beat GS should be arriving back tomorrow. I'll post up some pics soon.
Go for an LM if you want good quality without splurging on a GS. I get them serviced here by a true gent Richard Askham http://thewatchspotblog.com/ and yes I wear a manual or an auto every day :)

Just pressed the button on a new strap for my Railmaster from this mob:

Bit pricey, may well have to sell one of the children. Will report back when it arrives.

Here's the 'Grammar of Design' Grand Seiko 6145-8000 that took me about 3 years to find. Search parameters were:
- It had to have been made in 1969, not just 1969 but March 1969.
- It had to have an unpolished, original, case. A problem with these and many vintage Grand Seikos is that they get machine polished to hell to remove scratches, sadly this also ruins the sharp case edges by softening them.
- The gold medal had to be intact and unblemished. Again these were often prised out and sold. Or they got ruined if the wearer had acidic sweat and had worn it for years or decades.
- I had to find a genuine, unused, high-end Seiko strap from the same period.
- It all had to come together with an original Grand Seiko buckle. The type that the watch would have come with when originally sold.
I saw many, many, models that had 1 or 2 parameters missing or were untenable. This is the final piece. It may not look like much but a lot of thought and effort has gone into it. It was serviced a week ago, the automatic movement is in excellent condition and is currently running at +2 seconds per day. Enjoy:
