• I've been following this tutorial: http://thebiketube.com/tutorial/part-1-how-build-wheel-basics-wheelbuilding-36-spoke-wheel

But tonight I'll double check with Sheldon's website and proceed on truing.

  • I'm sure metal polish will bring them back to a mirror shine.

  • Yeah :) will try.

  • I need a proper stand for truing and I don't have it and can't use the Mistral upside down as I don't have space in the house for that.
So, for now, the LBS will do it.

Tomorrow I'll start putting up the components. First headset and BB by the LBS and front wheel trued. The at home I'll put on brakes, levers, gears. And will probably play with the handlebar colors.

  • The LBS being Woolsey of Acton. Anyone used them before?

  • The frame is in their hands. Guy seemed capable and appreciated the Moser when he saw it.
Facing and installing both BB and headset, prying a bit the stem so it'll fit in and truing the wheel should cost around £60

  • Got the frame with headset and BB installed. He also installed the stem. Lovely.

Will post pictures tomorrow with the morning light.

  • Here are the pictures of the frame with headset, bb and handlebars mounted.

I also quickly wrapped the white and the pink benotto tapes per side, I'm actually leaning towards the pink!

Pink or white? White or pink?

  • Pink!

  • it adds colour, doesn't it?

  • But will it go well with the black hoods?

It would look like this :

  • That frame is lush. Are you going to have room to keep it once it's built up?

    And definitely white.

  • Why? You'd help me in that case? :)

  • You never know. What size is the frame? How many gears are you going to run on it?

  • What you see on here. Size is 57, the regina corsa freewheel is 6 speed:

I'm not parting from it anytime soon anyway.

  • Certainly nothing there to put me off. I shall watch the build with interest.

  • Thanks. It should build quickly as I think I've got everything I need. Just some more cleaning / greasing.

  • cats are the coolest... choose white.
i think i still have a pair of red dustcups for gipiemme crankset.
you can have them for free if you want to add colour.
    nice work!

  • I'd say pink (even with black hoods). In case you get tired of it, it's not a big job swapping to white.

Why did they not fit the hs cups all the way in?

  • Maybe. Thanks!

    Got pictures?

  • Pink.

And Breso has a point, the cups aren't fitted properly nor are they lined-up: poor attention to detail!

    Otherwise, looking good though.

  • Yup noticed when arrived home. I had to run to catch the bus or would have waited a lot under the rain.
Have to go back and pick up the wheel and will bring it back.

It also moves freely but I can 'feel' the bearing.
So yeah, will bring it back for proper fitting. Good eye for details guys :)

  • I also have to get new brake pads. It seems I can change the rubber only, but the old one doesn't seem to agree on coming out easily :/

  • i will post a photo as soon as i find the small bastards, i mean dust caps.

  • Thanks a lot :)
