I'm rolling out the end of a downhill at around 40kmh and Mr. Grey van man pulls out of street parking without looking and occupies the entire lane. Fortunately there's no oncoming traffic so I swerve out around the bollard yelling "OI!!" at this guy.
The guy's is caught so unaware that he drops his phone and very important phonecall into his lap with a startle.
What a belm.
He sits beside me at the next lights, winds down the window and I expect some abuse.
To my surprise he gives me a thumbs up and says "Sorry mate".
I tell him to be more careful and he agrees not to let it happen again. He seems pretty sincere about it too.
Not such a bad guy after all and perhaps the roads are marginally safer than they were at 8 this morning.
