Personally I would assume unintentional. Sounds like a completely normal, if pointless, behaviour. Crappy emissions just par for the course.

Got hit in the face by a Mars bar wrapper the driver in front had disposed of out of his window. I think I was more displeased by his littering than it hitting me, perhaps I was just brought up correctly.

Did you leave your own 'Mars bar' on the bonnet of the car?

I'm rolling out the end of a downhill at around 40kmh and Mr. Grey van man pulls out of street parking without looking and occupies the entire lane. Fortunately there's no oncoming traffic so I swerve out around the bollard yelling "OI!!" at this guy.
The guy's is caught so unaware that he drops his phone and very important phonecall into his lap with a startle.
What a belm.He sits beside me at the next lights, winds down the window and I expect some abuse.
To my surprise he gives me a thumbs up and says "Sorry mate".
I tell him to be more careful and he agrees not to let it happen again. He seems pretty sincere about it too.Not such a bad guy after all and perhaps the roads are marginally safer than they were at 8 this morning.

I could've worn my winter boots this morning for warmer toes.
But I didn't.
HTFU toes.

Happens all the time. People are stupid. He's probably got a shitty old van or it's his employer's van so it gets ragged to fuck. Or it's clutch is on the way out or it's loaded to fuck and he expected the traffic to move off. Sometimes people are playing with phones and glimpse the traffic moving off then panic and shoot off too, not realising they're not moving too far at all. All part of the wonderful world of motorists.

Incidentally I passed a branch of Evans this morning and there was a poster advertising "tights for arms". Is this some sort of euphemism for arm warmers?
And shouldn't they actually be 'stockings for arms'?

A beautiful ride along CS2 at 4.30am, with each traffic light glowing a very welcome green. I had donned every cycling garment I own so the cold was bearable, plus the few cars that overtook me left ample room as the roads were empty. Didn't see a single other cyclist, in fact the only hint that civilisation hadn't ceased (apart from the occasional mini cab) were the droves of tired looking people waiting at the bus stops...

Very nice this morning. Left quite late for work. A beautiful crisp morning, but barely anyone out. If it wasn't for a shitload of traffic in the middle of town it would have been perfect.

Loving the commute on mornings like this one, but am slightly bemused by the mass of traffic of an evening (anytime after six) on upper richmond road, its nose to tail from just before clifford avenue east bound to roehampton lane. Proper traffic jam nonsense for about 5-10 mins of riding.
Question is this an everyday thing? As I'm sure it wasn't this bad before, and does it have anything to do with the reopening of putney bridge?Answers on a postcard

Yeah lol
That part of the A205 is packed from 800am to 1030am and from 6pm to 8pm.
A lovely place to filter on the outside -

My evening commute has been gridlock from Shepherds Bush down to the A3205 (and along it) all week. Meh.

Its all the way from Kingston up through Petersham as well. I think there may be some stuff going on in Richmond forcing cars a different way round? That seems a bit far away from where I've noticed though.

Actually, its probably just the park closing earlier.

Was great this morning. Cold, crisp and sunny. Also different commute. Instead of n1 to the west end had to go to Highbury. Pleasant change.

Lovely morning commute on cs7, making the most of it whilst it lasts.

And shouldn't they actually be 'stockings for arms'?
Would be tights for arms if they have a built in balaclava.

And shouldn't they actually be 'stockings for arms'?>
Leg warmers for arms would more accurately describe arm warmers I'd think.

My commute is err fun?
They are resurfacing the road I take to work 100 yards or so a night with each morning brining a new surprise surface to ride on. Today I was riding upto a spot I know a large square drain cover should be and it had vanished into the fresh road. Another part had some cracks forming but now is a nice invisible rumble strip section. So many surprises and delights.
