  • The overhang off the end of the bar would concern me more than anything. Is there normally a bar end weight or something on there? Isn't that fouling the grip/throttle tube?

Is there not a danger that if you cut the grip back that you'll cut the heating element/wires? I don't really know how heated grips work.

I'd slide everything a bit further onto the handlebar and glue the grip to the throttle tube with some proper glue unless the bike is something obscure where you think sourcing another throttle tube if you decide to move away from the heated grips or they wear out would be a problem.

  • Cheers.

There was a bar end weigh on there but, as the previous owner clearly discovered, tightening it hampered with the throttle play. He did it up loosely and it fell off at some point last week; leaving me to discover this. I swapped the left hand one over to see if what it did and anything more than finger tight stopped the throttle returning.

I'm going to be installing some Acerbis handguards this weekend and they come with internal weights and spacers which should allow me to clear the end of the grip without moving the throttle up the bars. I'll pick up some super glue as well and really make sure it won't move again. It's a Honda NC700 so I really can't see finding another throttle body as being an issue.
