So given the actions you perform on each bike are not super-specialist frame repairs, you think it's ethical to deceive the buyer into thinking they're getting a bargain rather than allowing them to decide whether your markup is fair given the original value of the bike?
If you're doing this as a business you should have access to trade accounts and bulk purchasing so that even after you've paid the necessary VAT and income tax, your offer is still a good deal for the buyer even when they know the original price.

Yes that would work... Dear buyer here is a list of all the expenses involved in running my business.
If you don't know how to market and sell benefits, you need a career change. You may be a good mechanic and restorer, and I have no reason to believe otherwise, but you should consider working for someone else where you will use your skills and they can deal with the sales, marketing and general operations.
This could turn into a PR nightmare for you.

You wouldn't need to give your life story and every little detail. People on here understand that restoring bikes will cost you money. Perhaps before and after photos, showing the condition you received the bike in and how it looks now would illustrate that in a clear and simple way.
Transparency will do your business model the world of good. Looking as if you're trying to hide something will damage it irrevocably.

This is getting boring!
