  • Could of been a bit better around the lever, looks great though!

  • ^^ Snazzy! Cinelli Kaleido?

  • Not sure where to put this, but here seems to be appropriate.

I've always taped my brake cables down with electrical tape before wrapping my bars, but I found the cables would eventually work free and move up which then loosened the bar tape which would slowly unravel.

So I started to wonder how I could tape the cable down without it moving. I figured out I could start the electrical tape backwards under the cable and create a hook of sorts which would stop the cable from moving up.

Then it's just a matter of winding the tape around the bars a few times to lock it all down.

I've done this on a few bikes now and the cables have not moved a millimetre and extended the life of the bar tape.

Maybe people already do this or you have their own method, but it works for me.

    Yes sir

  • ^^ Guess it's only a problem when the bar doesn't have groove for cable.

  • zip ties??

  • Holds the cable in place while taping them down?

  • pull the electrical tape and bar tape tighter

  • Woah that's like before internal cable routing, so retro...

  • Holds the cable in place while taping them down?

Yep. Particularly at the bend where the radius is tight - I had also adjusted my lever height so the existing bend didn't want to sit in there.

    True.

Two Nuns sat in the bath.

    One says "Where's the soap?"

"Yes it does, doesn't it!" replies the other.

It seems pretty decent quality but it hasn't been ridden yet. I think the fact that the background is white rather than orange makes it more likely to look alright on a bike.

  • Can anyone identify this tape??

  • It's probably Ciclolinea. They have tons of designs and colours, but it's becoming rarer to find.

  • Stunning - where do you think I could get some?

I love the inside of this.. too much.

  • Mash Parallax tape

  • You know me too well. Love the feel volee tape and I'm a sucker for white lines.
