how can you change bars without unwrapping them?

The idea behind it is pretty simple. The smaller face plate shares the load out more evenly across the clamping area of the bars.
I figured that, but I meant: is it worth the hassle?
Not worth the hassle if you're going to change bars all the time, but fine if you're happy with the bar/stem combo.
