Nobody wants to re-cable. It's just a thing that has to happen. There are no feelings involved :-)
"I am going to re-cable in the future" is a universal truth (unless you ride for team brakesaredeathâ„¢, a unicycle, or a horse).

yes in the 'future' those cables are good

Not really much upgrade - just swapped Sugino 75 s-cubic 47t chainring to black dura ace 47t one (I was pretty surprised to spot, that it's not NJS?). Now the question is if should I make my bike all black everything?
(and don't bother bout poor locking - it's restricted access courtyard at my workplace and even u-locking wheel to frame is a little overkill)

That's an benefit of hydraulics I've truly never considered. #mindblown

Change the pads and plug in the charger every now and again, oh and change the chain I suppose.
Apart from that...

Carbon wrap but the crank's star looks full carbon.

LOLZ
I don't want to divulge my plans too early but haters' gonna hate.
I need to find someone that can smooth welds as these ones are super rough.
The paint is knackered BTW. -

rough welds are fine .. look at spooky

Saw that on ebay and was tempted by it myself. Then I realised I couldn't afford to build moar bieks at the moment and I'm enjoying my Cannondale while the Unknown is out of action.

Leave the welds alone you heathen. That's part of the old GT charm.

Getting a 105 5500 octalink bb to fit the 7710 cranks I got.
Also looking at getting the X2 in either -10 or -17deg and a slamdatstem topcap.Other than that it's a Thomson seatpost clamp, an Izumi Eco chain and the bb to complete it.
Also a potential wheelbuild if I can find cheap enough 7710 hubs. Maybe even just go with Miche Primato hubs.

Converted my fixed gear get-around into a winter trainer last night. Already missing fixed to be honest. We'll see how she fares on a ride to Lewes for the bonfire shinanigans on Wednesday.
I like the look and simplicity of a single ring at the front but I've dropped my chain a couple of times already, any advice? I'd like to avoid chain guides, and narrow/wide chainrings are expensive and don't seem to come in 46 tooth / 130BCD...

Lovely frame!

In my experience, nothing wrong with the hubs, spin smooth and bearings can be swapped.
I would, just in case, put some water repellant on top where the seals are. It's rare to happen but if water gets into the space between bearing/hub you get alu/steel fusing = instant binning job once the bearings go.

absolutely beauty
personally, I would avoid the X2. Will look a bit busy and heavy. The stem you have on there looks great.
Needs track 404s :)

I know the fork is look, but IMO something straight would look better, a beauty though

Revert it to fixed?!
Seriously, Y U make it geared?! Fixed is perfect for a winter trainer. Ride fixed all winter and you'll come out the other side stronger than people who've stuck to gears and with better souplesse. All this needed was a bar swap.
(Sorry but I say all this with love!).

Yup - unless you are moving to Sicilly for the winter.
thanks bae; I thought he said he wants to re-cable, would allen keys work as cables? I have 5mm spare .. (good edit)
