Would it be possible to acetone off the decals from a pair of Neoprene gloves (specifically, a pair of Castelli Diluvio), or will this turn my nice new pair of waterproof gloves in to mush?
-
• #1328
Probably not a brilliant idea. Give it a month and the logo will come off anyway. Always does with Castelli.

Be prepared for your hands to semi-permanently stink and to resemble pink raisins the whole time by the way.

Great for when you get home and there's no one else around.

Or you get to work and there is an empty toilet cubical.

that's what merino liners are for...
plus, they're only getting used for proper deluge / -5 degree riding. Need to find something a bit better for regular 0 - 7 degree winter. Pretty tempted by the new Grippp winter gloves, as I have the mitts and full-fingers and really rate 'em

Merino liners AND neoprene?! You are going to to effing BOIL.

I have very bad circulation, and these are honestly for the snowy depths of winter.
2 winters ago I stopped at a café to discover that the water in my bottle had frozen. I refuse to be unprepared for that weather again.

Snotty, not everyone shares your fetish for getting tossed off by a squid

I just use ski gloves when it gets that cold.

genuinely, no gloves I have ever tried are warmer/better than the Lomo 5mm thick neoprene gloves. Your hands will stink but they will be warm as all hell in wet and dry. Just don't buy them in yellow or you'll look like you've nipped out while doing the washing up.

I have to admit that I really like the SealSkinz wooly gloves and overshoes - Not cold enough or wet enough for them yet.

I sometimes wonder if I just run extremely hot, or if everyone else overdresses massively?
Last night I was wearing summer kit and a base layer, and was probably too warm for a 40km training ride. A friend I was riding with had overstocks, leg warmers, arm warmers, a belgian cap AND a gilet. I would have passed out from heat stroke. It's still 10+ degrees!

Today I wore neoprene gloves underneath thick winter gloves. My hands were still cold for the first 100km but after that they finally warmed up and turned satisfyingly wrinkly and slightly smelly...

Currently have dilution, but like @Mechamorgan I'm looking for something suitable for around 0-10c. The neoprene is great in the wet but something slimmer and windproof would be ideal. Do Castelli make gloves with similar tech to the gabba?

Defeet merino gloves. £15 and amazing.

These have gore uppers and are windproof with neoprene cuffs , they might be suitable and are £20 quid with free p&p from Sigma Sport .

I've had mine 2 years. Worn them 100+ times. They're made well.

You don't need electronic touch.

Good to know. Cheers.

I've got some Grippp full-finger gloves which I rate, windproof upper and really good-but-minimal padding. I recon with some gloves under you could take them down to about 5 degrees, but not wet.

Bought some new Defeet
Job done

Also tempted by the defeet, do the non electric touch ones work on touch screens OK anyway?

Just sew a small bit of conductive thread onto the fingertips of normal gloves.
Two gloves, even better!
