  • I've got a chain tensioner for the trek. Pomp would be easier but the trek has better clearance

  • If you are building a fun gravel grinder where it isn't a catastrophe when the chain skips the teeth on the chain tensioner, then the Trek will do you good.

  • Pompino mud clearance (at least on the rear, I'm using a different fork) isn't so bad for proper cyclocross. Mud tyres are generally a bit thinner and should give reasonable amounts of room for mud.
