  • Ah. Surly?

  • Thay all seem to be 3/32.

  • You can run 1/8" chains on those.

  • Yeah.
But why should i? I want correct size cog.
    Sometimes production is killing me.
For example, white industries do not produce ss frewheels with 1/8 cogs. Chris King has no splined cods with 1/8 width too. That sucks.

  • I've a Merckx corsa 01 with dedacciai zero uno tubing . ( similar to columbus max ) Does anybody know when Merckx began to use dedacciai tubing ? Begin 90's they still used columbus for the corsa extra (slx or tsx) mxleader (max) corsa (sl) ? When was the corsa 01 introduced ? thx

  • Somebody who knows when the corsa 01 was introduced ?
Deda zero uno tubing ( is like columbus max)

  • No idea when the tubeset was introduced, but the cable guides on the head tube are for Sti/Ergo shifters.

The race number tag suggests it's a top-of-the-range model, so pre-dates carbon fibre becoming the material of choice for pro frames.

I would guess sometime around 2000.

  • That's a very short stem

  • The lugs and fork crown are very similar to those on my Baines, but not identical.
Those track ends look like Chater Lea.
A frame number (if any) might help.

  • You're too picky.

  • I only know what's in that ad :/

  • the groupset isn't from that period ( if you have a closer look you can see the delta brakes and shifters)

  • Agreed.

The groupset is earlier than the frame: it isn't original.

    Groupsets can be changed

  • agree , that's why i am confused about the age of the frame . i try to find when they start using this tubing . I found a catalogue of 97 with a corsa 01 just wondered if there were earlier ones .

  • Hi, I got this frame a few days ago and want to find out who made it and hopefully the tubing. It seems to have been resprayed and then had colnago decals put on, definitely not a colnago.
It is light which suggests a good quality tube set.
    Zeus dropouts front and rear.
Seat tube is either 26.8 or 27.0 (seat post in it has been chopped so no exact size, couldn't get a 27.2 to fit)
There are a no. of codes on the bb shell. The guy who sold it to me mentioned the name Jaques Allé for the JA but I couldn't find anything opine about the name.
Any help will be appreciated! Cheers

  • Perhaps by a couple of years, but not by much more.

Campag introduced Ergo shifters in 1992 and Shimano were a little earlier.

It would have taken a few years for them to become "standard" and for framebuilders to add those guides.

  • C record was made till 95 i think , as i have been told the deltas with black rubbers were the last version . Thinking of building the groupset on another frame ... Thx for the info

  • You're welcome.

Yes, 1994 was the last year of the C-Record era (shield logo, no groupset names on components), although Record (and Chorus) were issued with dual pivot brakes in that year.

I can't help you as to which version your Deltas are: I've never liked them, so haven't bothered to learn anything about them.

  • Hi,
Was hoping someone could help me identify a Raleigh model I've been offered. Only saw it briefly yesterday and unfortunately forgot to take any photos or note down a serial number, so I realise this is pretty vague! It's not a model i've seen before and it doesn't seem to fit into any of the obvious categories - super course, competiton, grand prix etc. Stylistically it's quite similar to the red/yellow/black professional- has basically the same raleigh logo on the down tube, has the same ti logo on the forks (so I guess it's later than 1960), has half-chromed forks and stays, is 531 tubed and says club sport on the top tube. The main colour is white with yellow headtube and writing and red trim. I think it has cottered cranks as well. Hopefully that terrible description makes some sense to someone. Cheers

  • Hi, would anybody be able to to help me find out what seatpost and stem this has.
    Thanks.

  • Looks like one of the many imitations of the Campag aero seatpost: Selcof springs to mind.

The stem looks like a Cinelli 1A. However, bearing in mind that the bike looks like it's "brand new vintage", I wonder if the stem isn't also a reproduction...

  • Ok- thank you very much for your help.

  • given the bike, i'd say kalloy aero and zenith gran compe.
