For those who think 7800 cranks are ugly, how about the monstrosity that is 4600!
In January my son will be 9 months, and thus: old enough to go in a baby seat on the back of the bike. Hence this pile of practicality that I put together yesterday (chain is too short, I know. Gonna root out some links and add them in when he goes back to sleep.)
It's not a Raleigh. I think it's some generic 631 frame. Welds look very similar to my crosscheck, so something in that vein that has been resprayed and had decals added (inexplicably). It was free, whatever it is...

I was just going to say that 7800 cranks look like 4600. Definitely do not want. Spoils the entire groupset for me...

Yeah, pictures make them look horrible but in real life I think they're sufficiently blingy that the shape isn't too noticeable. Since Shimano started down the hollowtech II route, it's all gone to shit, looks wise. Ultegra 6700 cranks are passable but I think that's down to the darker ano.

Not to mention the levers and the chainrings. /hate

If only 7700 was a HT2 design...

boshed a trispoke on my mash today, not sure I like how it looks with a shallow rear wheel, But I love how it sounds.

Even the levers? Hard to please...

I reckon so. Out of interest, what is your favourite gruppo? I think the chunky shitness of recent Shimano looks nice on steel. I'm not sure about on big tubes though.

7700 is really beautiful imo

I think quite the opposite, one of the best looking most aesthetically balanced groupsets they've ever made.

Make sure to overinflate the tyre a bit, to give the accoustics even more shine

Quick evening shot of new build-up. Currently 6600 with 170mm 6600SL cranks, ksyrium elites and contis. I find that every now and then when shifting from the small up to the big chainring the chain overshifts and drops. Could it be my derailleur toe in/out, chain too short or the fact I'm using a DA 7901 chain (uni directional?)

possibly the trim adjusters on the front derailleur. go out for a spin around the block with a small screw driver and have a fiddle

Correctly set limit screws on the front mech?
-
• #97768
The trim adjusters on 6600 are inline and (for the the front) also with the lever. You don't need a screwdriver, you don't even need to stop :-)

So +pops picked up an OTP All City Space Horse for a great price a few weeks back. Lack weekend we got around to fitting some Velo Orange mudguards and the Soma Porteur rack. I thought I'd share a few pics.
PS. I apologise in advance for the inexcusable faux pas of leaving it in the small ring. :)
